Good day. Ive got a 97' 1HD FT AUTO Limited VX. It definitely has the OBD 1 (DIAGNOSTIC) socket passenger side in the engine bay. Does this mean it is not OBD2 compatible or could both sockets be there? Cant find the OBD 2 socket in the fuse box area though?
ODBII was required in '95 in the US market. I don't believe the other markets in the world required ODBII so maybe not. I will let the more knowledgeable on international models chime in.

That being said, the diag port you see on the firewall can be used to get codes. Look up ODBI diag here and it will show which pins to jumper with a paper clip or fancy pin tool from Wits' End.
