Long story short.
At grocery store late at night and hear cat meowing from undera bush from middle isle of parking lot. After getting in car I feel composed to go look. I get out take a peek and this cat just comes to me. Mind you it's raining. So I call my friend who is a local vet and adopts strays out from his office and he says I am gone for the holiday weekend. Im thinking o crap it's now in my truck.......I take it home and the
just wigs out.............Great new cat in the house...........The other bad news comes a few weeks later when I see she is prego
She is now a not so happy cat with my lab in the house and she was not gonna loose....She would speak into my dogs kennel and attach her while she slept...She was a mess afer that, kept thinking it was a bad dream repeating it self.
Drop prego cat off at vet's office while going on vacation then get phone call stating she had kittens and the how now changed....Joking of course, but he tells me that he has homes for all the kittens...I ask how, they are cats.. He tells me they all have 6 toes and that they are all black. OK??? Hemingways are all (mostly) Calico's and black is very rare.
I take the clan home and pray for the day they can all be weened. One kitten would not leave my lab alone and my dog still a little freaked out about getting attacked moves every time the kitten came to her. So after my dog overcoming her issues with cats she allowed the kitten to sleep with her and they have never been apart since.
So, yes I traded the mom cat out for the kitten...........Hes a little bastid and is now running from couch to couch back freaking out and peeking out the windows...........

Awww..... Yeah- I had found a litter of kittens by our apartments, and I was kinda taking care of them- outside.
Finally they were getting big enough, and the all black one (there were a couple others that had polydactyls, but were black & white) I grabbed the all black one- he was reallllllly fiesty and I loved it.
I called him monster because he was sooooooo scary.
I miss that baby
