Being a fairly new resident of NC (been here almost 5 years), I was wondering if when you purchase a "new" vehicle can you transfer tags/license plates? Since I had to register each vehicle I own (3) they all have been out of state/country, and I would get plates issued.

Reason why I am asking, is if I do pull the trigger on a replacement for the daily Grand Cherokee, I already have the plate number memorized and I don't want the bonehead title clerk issue me a "First in Freedom" plate/tag, when I prefer the "First in Flight" one, because they never listen anyway.

I am looking at a '14 Cruiser over at Sabates Ford soon. It checks all the right buttons, but not a huge fan of DVD in the rear as I have no rugrats to entertain.

Bottoms up!!

You can use your tag in the new vehicle make sure you transfer the tag and then cancel insurance on the old one.

Thanks Roxx!

And be careful, because some nefarious characters within ONSC have been known to put trailer hitch cover on new, unsuspecting vehicles that says, Cowboy butts drive me nuts

As well as other lewd things too.

Yeah, @fj40z and @jfz80 tried to sneak it into the rear receiver of my teardrop camper at a dinner last year, while @TB03 and @erymer were trying to sodomize the air conditioner intake and exhaust vents...

There should be two cowboy butt things floating around. I remember the time I found one on my Truck after driving home from the barn. Ha ha. My daughter had absconded it so I bought another to replace it. And the original one was returned. So there are two. One of them is rather damaged from trail torture.

Somebody hit me with one a couple events ago that said something like “I wanna be a STUD. I have the STD. Now all I need is U.” Pretty sure I immediately paid that one forward, but I haven’t seen it since.
