Any 55 gurus on the forum? Possible looking at picking this up, it runs but the clutch is toast. Its in rough shape. It would be a sub $2k purchase with the goal being to fix the mechanical bits, and let it rust out around me. It would be cool just have though.

Mechanical bits are more or less the same between 40s and 60s of the same vintage. Don't need to be a 55 guru if you're just fixing mechanical stuff.

If you have the $$$ do it... that's in much better shape rust wise than most. spend some time to stop it from expanding and then fix rust holes at a later date.

Local truck? IIRC this truck (or one like it) was on CL several years ago listed in Peachland, NC. I believe the seller was asking $2K and it was only up for a few days. I never got a chance to look at it before the ad came down. It makes me wonder if this is the same truck and I've been waiting for it to pop back up somewhere. Hope you get it! Congrats. Needs a vanity plate or at least a sticker that says, GOT Fe2O3?

I am going to pick it up next Thursday. Anybody have any recommendations for truck transport? If I can find a car trailer, I might just tow it with the 100. If not, I am looking for a company any of you have had success with?

How far away is it? If it's close, go get a uhaul trailer. Tell uhaul you will be towing a Suzuki Samurai or Geo Tracker or some other tiny car (miata). They won't knowingly let you tow that pig behind your 100 with their trailer. I am speaking from experience here, trust me.
