Hi all -
I've been searching through the various forums for aftermarket radio options for the post 2002 LX 470's. Doesn't seem like there are too many. Has anyone installed or know anyone who's installed one of the Seicane Radios?
10.1 Inch 1998-2007 Lexus LX470 LX570 Android 6.0 Capacitive Touch Screen Radio GPS Navigation system with Bluetooth TPMS DVR OBD II Rear camera AUX USB SD 3G WiFi Steering Wheel Control Video

Based on this video, it looks like you can control the climate system:

It looks like it is plug and play via the CAN BUS

I have just emailed the company. Their English support is not so good so I just messaged them in Chinese. Just not sure if anyone has experience with this specific product on the LX's.
Thanks for your help.

If you want a more modern head unit, following one of the guides on here that goes over how to replace your Nav unit with non-Nav is probably the best option. Then you can pretty much install whatever head-unit you want.

About those other “Android” after-market units (Seicane, etc):

I tried these out in my Tiguan. I was not impressed. Your experience might be different.
  1. They run an unofficial custom rom, which is pretty much OK, but doesn’t support updating to a newer version of Android. Also, who knows what else is running on the OS?
  2. The touch interface lags, the Radio interface is weird, the screen is not that great and does very poorly in sun light and it randomly reboots.
  3. Dealing with customer service is a terrible experience. When I bought mine they would be closed Thursday to Monday. It would take about a week for them to get back to me.
If you are willing to accept that it’s not perfect, quirky but functional, and you’ll be stuck on a specific version of Android (unless they put out an update) then they are not bad units. I mean, they work... but I just don’t think your money is well spent on any of these units.

In the end, I returned it, and waiting for the refund to post was a bit stressful, as I didn’t trust them to actually do it.

I bought a Pioneer NEX for my Tiguan, instead. My LC still has the OEM Nav unit.

Also, this is just my personal opinion. I’m no expert.

EDITED for clarification.

@Slashzero - Thanks for the quick response. Did you use the iDatalink to replace the climate controls functionality on the Pioneer NEX?

No, sorry about the confusion. I was only commenting on the quality of these units. I installed it in my VW Tiguan. After having it a few days, I removed it, returned it, and replaced it with a Pioneer. I will never buy one of those units again.

My LC still has the OEM Nav unit. I’m not planning to replace it.

I just purchased a brand new Seicane unit from a local guy who purchased it for his 05 LC. He sold the LC but never installed the unit. I have an 05 LX 470 and installed the unit this past weekend. Quirky to say the least. The install instructions are terrible and on-line You Tube videos are worse! I have the system with the inter-phase box so the AC controls have functionality. The radio/ stereo works as well. However, I just got the WI-Fi and Bluetooth set-up but cant get any sound out of the system yet. Its still a work in progress. I the whole system for less than half of the online price but would not recommend it thus far.

Yep. These units are terrible. They offer basic functionality, and the apps provided to support OEM functionality are terrible (poorly written, just good enough to be functional). They are just not quality products. They work, but have a lot of issues, quirks, limitations, etc.

Additionally, none of them seem to run an official version of Android. Most are custom ROMs (see What is an Android Custom ROM?) which can’t ever be updated OTA to keep up with Android security updates, and aren’t 100% compatible with apps on the google play store.

I’d recommend you remove it from your truck, and sell it on eBay to get your money back. :-)

Ever get the bugs worked out? Or did you find a better solution?
