So, another post got me interested in finally getting the poop on my FJ40's swaped engines specifics so I was more knowledgable. I used this website for suffix code and I then used this website for general casting details and I used this website to get details on how to find the 3 key numbers in the first place.
BLOCK CASTING #
25 GM 3970010
this tells me it is a small block GM built Chevy 350, 1969-79 year range, 185 (low)-370(high) HP range, 2-4 main caps/bolt, 4.001 (2.45" main) bore size
---------
BLOCK CASTING DATE
F181
this tells me June (F), 18th (18), 1971 (1)
---------
ENGINE ASSEMBLY DATE/SUFFIX CODE
V0721TRJ
this tells me it was made in Flint, Mi (V), in July (07), on the 21st (21), confirms from a 1972 Truck and confirms 4 caps/bolts (TRJ suffix)
---------
Did I decipher this all correct? Did I miss anything? What more would I want to know about my engine I missed or did not get from these numbers and mention here?
