Chasing down an aggravating issue that is keeping me from loving my new to me GX.

I notice what can be best described as a looseness in the front end over sharp/rough pavement that translates to minor clunks/bobbles in the column. The truck tracks true and the wheel doesn’t shimmy at any speed (I’ve read up on the “steering flutter” TSB - this isn’t it).

I also feel this slight fore/aft movement (maybe 1/8”) when I come off the brakes after a semi-aggressive application to the pedal.

Anybody experience this?

I have the same exact thing. I will be following this closely. I just had the suspension upgraded in mine and had the shop give everything a once over. They said everything looked great. I only notice it when going over small bumps and only if I am turning at the same time. Weird. It was doing it before the suspension upgrade as well.

I can't say I remember someone posting this specific issue (or it was just standard suspension wear components) and I try to look for 460 problems a lot in case I am affected someday. One would likely have to get in there in a jacked stance and start manipulating front suspension/steering components looking for the play.

FSM just says

Compiling some links to read through that I’ve found while searching sister vehicles.

I’m having the same issue. A slight clunky feel in the column. Seems like the culprit (based upon the helpful links) might be the intermediate shaft or sway bar bushings - when I dig in the fix I’ll report back, if you haven’t beforehand
