That would be pretty loud. It wouldn't be out of the question though. I'm fighting a stuck Torx screw right now. I've broken 3 bits and have finally called it quits until I get some Blaster PB.

The plan right now is to get the chrome with the grey, the rings with the red. I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can get that all knocked out. Time is the hardest thing for me to get right now.

We're about to pick up our white '13 LC and I'm thinking about spraying the chrome strips white as well - granted, they will be a flat white, but that still may be better than chrome, or I can also hit it with a gloss or pearlizer overspray and see how that turns out.

If I go this route I'll post pics. As seen in the other Plastidip thread I have done a bunch of sets of wheels, badges, chrome pieces, etc. with Plastidip and I like being able to done down the bling. :)

Got the grey plastidip on this afternoon. We really like it compared to the black. This will be a slow process to knock out all of the chrome but, I prefer this route vs. something more permanent.

Next step is to get the wheels. I had to have someone bring over an extractor to get the stuck Torx screw out of the rim. Now I've got all five rings off and will begin cleaning then spraying the red on. I'll aim to get the wheels on by tomorrow.

So, more pictures tomorrow evening.

Much better than black. I like it.

Still a little daylight left. I got the 5 rings dipped and will install in the morning. I've got the other side of the truck to do in grey, the rear decal again, and install the wheels.

I'll also get an oil change :meh: figure, why not...

I think it looks pretty good--very un-Lexus like. On the side moldings, it looked like you did a masking job of sorts, then sprayed on the Plasti-dip, and THEN you must have trimmed around the chrome with a knife (?) to remove the overspray. Is that how you did it? Is that also the easiest way to do it? Most curious about this, as I haven't used Plasti-dip products yet....

Plastidip will separate very easily on a seam or edge just by pulling away from the seam on the excess Plastidip, that's likely what he did to "trim". Way easier than trimming with any kind of a sharp object, and overspray will also rub off with a microfiber towel.

@RickC5 - I did basically what @Tremek mentioned. I allowed for about 1-3 inches of over spray to ease the peeling processes. I did about 4 solid coats and waited about 10 minutes between coats and an hour before peeling. There were a few snags but, nothing earth shattering.

This was my first attempt at this and I found it to be extremely easy. You can find more variety of colors online with speciality stores. If you want standard colors, which I did for trying out, Walmart/Lowes/Home Depot will have all you need.

I've already had a few folks come up to me and mention how they dislike what I did. I appreciate their views but, I believe the wife and I are happy with the outcome. We may have the rings powder coated or painted If we're still sold on the red in the next few months.

Here's what it looks with black on red.

Yeah I'm liking that. Great stuff.

I also found this 25th anniversary LX edition offered in Russia which came with Russian bumper/fogs and blacked wheels and trim.
