My wife unfortunately doesn’t like wheeling. My best buddy and son will be with me. Can’t win them all. She’s a Glamper. Why we have a 2021 Travel Trailer. At least she’ll get out there and campfire up.

I am planning on attending, I won't have a 55 ready, but can I drive my 68 vw bus there? I am just starting to work on my 72 55.

Wondering that myself. As a former VW pilot (bug/bus/Ghia) I know the joys of hitching rides. Wouldn’t expect anything but a Syncro on the trails.

You haven’t lived until you’ve done Paris/Brussels/Amsterdam/Copenhagen/Stockholm/Oslo/Munich/Salzburg/Geneva/Luxembourg while living with three others in a clapped out $300 ex-florist delivery bus and experiencing ā€œEurope on $5 a Dayā€. Still have the book and lots of memories. Only in the early ā€˜70s.

I built up a 2wd Westy for home in the Mtns.....fun ride...style points for days, but couldn’t fit enuff in it (kid and our dirtbikes), sadly....it turned into a Black 2wd sprinter that we’ve romped into some less than advisable spots.... šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø
Anyway......My 55 needs to get wild again.... and I will start clearing that weekend and buttoning up loose ends on the rig. I’ve beefed it up a little, since last PP I was at in Rico ā€˜17.....but reckon I could shore up some things by July. If camp is maxxed, I’ll zero in on a close dispersed camping spot. Would be cool to see a bunch of ya’s again.

We’ll have plenty of room at the campsite. One Pig Party every five years is the bare minimum so you’ll be added to the list.
If I remember correctly your Pig was fairly new to you when you drove into the campground in Rico. It’ll make this trip just fine. Look forward to seeing you again.

Need to also add FJ55zen and Cgn 1976.

This might be the biggest Western gathering of Pigs if everyone shows up. Looks like we're up to 18 with 16 of the vehicles FJ55s.
Met with John and Mark yesterday in Albuquerque and each of the three of us agreed to take a day in the lead for trail runs. Bonnie and I will lead the route along the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. John and Mark will spend some time exploring and finalizing their plans but have some great ideas. Plenty of opportunities before and after, including Ojo Caliente Hot Springs and a day riding the train rather than chasing it. Also in areas coming and going to Rio de los Pinos.

Is the first trail day going to be that Friday? I had planned on arriving into camp that morning. Should I move up my schedule by one day?

We’re planning three days of trail runs. Could be Thurs/Fri/Sat or Fri/Sat/Sun. July 7-10 as originally announced encompasses Thurs-Sun. Want to be sensitive to travel issues for those coming from afar. My suggestion would be to plan runs Thurs/Fri/Sat so folks could head home on Sunday. We’ll be around at least Wed-Mon so could join folks who wanted an additional trail day Sunday.

Edited. Thanks…

Roger that.

Been out of touch for about three weeks with a death in the family and helping my son move from Albuquerque back to Denver for a new job. Probably time for an update.
Here's the latest list of attendees for Pig Party 2020 in northern New Mexico. Scheduled July 7-10 in Rio de Los Pinos campground just across the border from Antonito, CO. Nineteen rigs on the list. As far as I know 17 Pigs, a VW bus (Pig owner) and a 60 (one of our NM guides). Looks like at least 40 people. Probably the biggest PP ever. Any updates as far as number of members in your group would be welcome. Still looking for some regulars (@J Mack, @fj55-100, @PabloCruise, @bobm and @remy1974) and some who've mentioned attending (@greenbeast).
