My wife (MariJo or MJ) plans on coming too, but the other day she told me she wonāt travel on the highway in my newly resto-moded pig. I looked at her and asked what she thought we drove on a couple of weeks ago to get to Zion National Park. She said āexactlyā and that she didnāt want to drive long distance in āthat tin can.ā I then asked her how she plans on getting from Las Vegas to NM. She said she will drive her car and park it somewhere then join me in the pig when we are there. LOL
Just do like me and spend the time on the road talking about gardening and home decorating, the trip goes quick.......for her. 
Trying to āPigPressureā my friend Eric @Hobbs81 to trailer his Firepig to PigParty 2022. With the V10 in his tow vehicle might have to start gofundme account for the gas. Complaining about poor gas mileage with this crowd will fall on deaf ears.

My wife would get along with yours...which is why I'll be solo unless I can wrangle a non pig owner to come just for the adventure

Yesterday I picked up a good used book at the local public library's resale shop for $2 - "Ticket to Toltec, A Mile by Mile Guide for the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad". It has detailed maps along the route, including side roads and trails that lead to the right-of-way. And while in Santa Fe earlier this week, I stopped by the local BLM office and picked up three BLM topographic maps that cover the area south of the narrow gauge and all of the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. The maps also show land ownership.
Incorporating part of the Continental Divide into PP2022 would be epic
I've run it border to border, it's pretty epic,
I'd have to double check my maps but there's a pretty cool section not too far out of the way that was solid rock, but its like your driving on an old busted concrete rd.

The BLM map of the PP 2022 area shows the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail, which in northern New Mexico is miles and miles from the Continental Divide itself.
There's a few different versions of the Continental Divide trail and it's course, but yes, either way it's further west of the actual divide,, I'd have to check my maps/tracks for the version I've done
Edit: looking at my tracks I went through Chama, Abiquei (sp?) ect via Carson Nat Forest rds and Caballo mtn further south.
Say, it reminded me, last time I was at Valles Cladera it was privately owned but they were all a buzz about it being passed to the nat forest, anyone been there recently?

The Valles Caldera National Preserve has been open to the public for quite a few years now. It was transferred fairly recently from the Forest Service to the National Park Service, and is administered jointly with Bandelier National Monument, which adjoins it to the southeast. The closest Preserve boundary is less than 7 miles due west of our house, so my wife and I go there a lot - hiking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing. BTW, I'm looking out my front window at Caballo Mountain as I type this

Maybe that was it, transferring from forest service to parks, it was a very small operation when we visited, and the family history and ranch houses/cabins were well maintaimed.
It's certainly a great part of NM.

We live under the shadow of Caballo Mountain, at least later in the summer when the sun is further north.
