Howdy,
My headlight switch just went bad does this hint any other problems?? The fuse did not blow:eek:. Can I just by another switch from anywhere??
I was putting in a new bulb at the licencse plate it has 12v but when I turned the lights on the switch went are they related?:meh:
Thanks

the switch went bad oem only or will aftermarket work?

Only an OEM switch will fit without drilling and will plug into your wiring harness...
How do you know it is the switch that is bad? Plenty of other places for bad things to happen in the wiring of a '55.

I took the switch out and it fell apart............

that's a pretty good indication that it's bad ;)

i wouln't bother with aftermarket...check the for sale section for people parting out 40s/55s, then check ebay...they're on there regularily

check with fjben...he just got a bunch of parts from a junkyard pig.

Oh. Well I've got a spare light switch for my '74...don't know if it's the same as a '71 though...

Check SOR for what years have the same switches.

I know there were changes, early 70's switch will not fit a late 70's.

Got it fixed then started blowing fuses andfound the nicked wire fixed that too and is good now thanks for the info

I'm in need of a light switch for my 69......just ordered a light switch from TPI in Tenn and may be a slightly later model...I may have just made a mistake:crybaby:. So if I understand correctly...the earlier models will not take say a 1974 model switch???

I guess I'll have a good laugh when this beast is FINALLY on the road-----dave

I just found an aftermarket one and installed it........no problems so far and it even has a fuse in it now there are t fuses for the lights:-0
