looks clean -- hows the interior??

The interior is in pretty good shape...The front seats and dash have been covered so they are in great shape. They is a little cracking in the rear seats, but nothing to bad...The carpet and headliner need a shampoo, but don't have any rips or permanent stains...I'm pretty happy considering the age of the beast :D

Lose the after-market fan belts and you need a new throttle cable.....;)

His looks brand new compared to mine. I dig the tape wrap :).

I'm with you on the belts but the t-cable is the parts manager in you talking.:flipoff2: Mine has looked worse than that since I bought it.

Hmm,

Glad to know you are happy to run shabby stuff on such a nice rig.........:D

I guess you keep the hood closed unless it's an emergency...........

Nice. I'm a fan of that color.

Looks like my throttle cable..... complete with black electrical tape. It's next on my to-do list.

Actually that brings me to a good question...I have 5 or 600 hundred to spend on the 80...What would you do...service the tranny and diffs??? New belts hoses...system flush..plugs and wires????Where should my priorities be?

buy an FSM and use only OEM parts for the following

personally I would do the front axle/birfiled repack and replace the wheel and knuckle bearings at the same time. If the front rotors are below spec, replace them with OEM and use 100 series brake pads. Otherwise replace pads as needed and check for uneven pad wear indicating caliper problems. bleed the brake fluid and replace.

go synthetic on oil, transfer case and rear diff. wait on synthetic for the front diff until you decide whether to rebuild the front axle (use dino for now but do it), low pressure flush the tranny, flush the power steering system and replace with ATF, flush the rad and block, new t-stat, tear down the drive shafts and clean the compacted grease out of the sockets, service the u-joints and check for play.

new belts, new plugs, cap, rotor, new plug wires if your's say "1993" on them, replace phh

tear down and thoroughly clean throttle body, adjust throttle cable, replace air filter with oem, new pcv valve

inspect your egr system - check the modulator filter for carbon and the vacuum lines for build up - ream out any carbon in the egr valve passage in the air intake - replace stuff as necessary

if you do this yourself and do it carefully and methodically you can get it all done for about $1200 and around $600 if you skip the birf rebuild and associated work.

$600 will buy you a lot of parts, but not much labor, so you'll need to do the work yourself if you want to get much done.

I would change all the fluids and do a tune up. Check the brakes. Repack wheel bearings and replace axle seals if needed. Check valve clearances. Do hoses.
