Ok... who has them??? I want to order Shane's seats but I am totally on the fence about color. I like the idea of brown better but the pics on mud haven't convinced me. Been talking with shane and he doesn't have better pics either. Can someone take some better pics??? Can you comment on the color match with the dash and the slight color difference between the colors of the leather (top) and vinyl (sides, back)? I am kind of anal about the colors matching and i think its especially important if your leaving the door panels tan. i don't want two different colors of brown on the seats with tan trim on the doors. I know others have wanted to see pics also... thanks

My interior is brown so I would like to see something match better than tan.

I am also interested in a set of these for the LX 450 I bought for my wife.

ANYONE???

Shane said a few guys have purchased these so post up!!!! i would even be happy if you could take some of the seats not installed next to the interior plastic. thanks

who is this shane and what do these seats look like

shane

Shane or aatlas1x(mud name) makes high quality reproduction leather covers and other cruiser items. He can match any color and he recently made some seats to match the oak color interior. He has a pic of them but with the flash it was hard to tell how close the color match was.

anyway someone better post up some pics soon:mad:

Most buyers are finding me via google search and are not active members or members at all.

Please look through the threads in the link below.

Metric TLC

As far as the pics, the flash really screws with the color and makes the vinyl look smooth and it is NOT as anyone will tell you and they are an exact color match. As factory only the seat face is leather, the sides are vinyl to allow for stretching and proper fitment.

The close up of the arm rests is a good representative of color and grain.

thanks shane!! That is a much better representation of the color and yes the original pics i saw did make the vinyl appear smooth and different in color.

The arm rests are close up's are in a white photo box and is the correct color to the eye. And the seats in the LX are the exact same color, crazy how light can distort color.

PM Sent Shane...

I'm liking this brown - does anyone know if the LX450 covers work in the Landcruiser. I really hate the strip on the bottom of the LC seats.

Also, any opinons on how this brown color would look in a 97 LC 40th anniversary currently with the two-tone brown?

I remember reading on Mud that the LC and LX450 seat cushions are different. I think one would need all new LX450 cushions to install LX450 seat covers in a Landcruiser due to the plastic rails on back of covers that fit into cushions.

Thanks for the response...

So, it sounds like I'lll need to order the seat cushions and I could use the LX covers. I wonder if that is the case on the 2nd and 3rd rows as well.

I will be replacing the front cushions regardless so I would just order the LX seat cushions.

Can anyone else confirm if this has been done?

Here are a few pic from my LX. I went with 40th two tone look. The leather and vinyl are a dead match to the oak plastic trim. I have nothing but good things to say about Shane's leather kits!

Are the door panels available in the brown as well? ( and a dumber question, the back panels, though I seem to remember these being in the kits? )

Is the brown for the 1991 fj80 available? Thanks, MIke

The strip is a Toyota only. I say dark brown with tan inserts, that's just me...

Correct. Toyota and LX are different.

Must be LX or Toyota. they do not interchange.

They are a dead match, I just wish better pics could be had...The natural light kills the color with flash. Thanks!

No door panels, they look like crap redone, simply remove the arm rest and clean with a good cleaners and then use a conditioner and install new arm rest in tan or brown.

Yes it is.

Oh I love the look of that brown so much!

Only if I had some disposable income :frown:

ok, so I am trying to get together all the money to get my front seats back in shape..

front set (brown) 550.00 plus shipping 50.00 =$600.00

seat padding for lx450 (?) about = $150.00

tool, parts, etc..another $50.00

so I need about $800.00 dollars for everything...

is that about right...
