Gosh, you would think we moved to Texas.

Thanks for posting this. Are these closures due to Oil/Gas access?

I want to say it was a group of land owners... possibly similar to what happened down south with Monticello.

I received this ...

==================
You did it!
Thanks to your support, the Chaves County Commission agreed to reject three road closure applications that collectively provide primary access to more than 60,000 acres of public land. Those are 60,000 acres of prime barbary sheep and mule deer country that remain accessible for you to hunt, explore, and enjoy.

We thank you for signing the petition and for standing up to the special interests who are hellbent on privatizing public lands for their own profit and personal gain.

A special thank you to local sportsmen in Chaves and Eddy counties for helping lead this fight, including David Archibeque, Dakota Paul Neel, Christopher Wilcox, Barry Foster, Mark Pantuso, Joe Rivera, Jerry Gilcrease, Toby Marrujo, Seth Taylor, Helen and Oscar Sosa, and all sportsmen who showed up or sent an e-mail to their county commissioners. And a special thank you to Joel Gay for helping to spread the word.

Read our full statement on our website, and thank you for your support.
