Can anyone suggest a perf. shop to do exhaust work in our area; prefer the Fairfax area and west of there(Warrenton, manassas, etc.)

It's on a vehicle with turbos, so the more experience the better.

x2 on Murphy's. The 45 is going there for exhaust as soon as it's reassembled.

I have also heard murphy's is good.

My 40 was done at R and B auto in front royal, guy did a great job and was fairly cheap considering it took him the better part of the day.

I'll look into them. Maybe i can find their email and see what they think. I'm no exhaust expert but do know it can play an important role when it comes to performance engines(1jz-gte)

Try Murphy's Motorsports in Opal across from the big Sheetz. They just did exhaust for Matt and Dad's 40s that looks really good.

I really liked that exhaust on your dad's 40...I'm hoping he didn't do away with the ghetto pipe

I hated to get rid of the exhaust on the 40; it was some of my best work!

Brandon - I don't think the Internet has reached Opal yet so you may have to try the phone.

I'm in Alexandria City. Have any of you guys dealt with any shops over here? Just about every hanger is broken and I have lots of thin metal, etc. so I pretty much need everything replaced.

tseewell, let me know what you come up with. My cats sound like they haves bebe in them and they are driving me nuts. I need to have hangers welded every time I wheel the truck.

Are you going to take the pipe over the frame after the cats? What cats and muffler would you go with?

I already have a cat, a Magnaflow 59956 (universal spun). Yeah, I'll probably ask about rerouting it over the frame rail since that seems to be what everyone is doing nowadays. I'm not sure about the muffler/resonator, but I'll search around and find someone's setup I like and pretty much copy it. Plus, I don't have and haven't really decided on a rear bumper yet (as far as the tailpipe, etc).
I'm not opposed to driving out to Opal, but there has to be a good shop around these parts.

Well, I finally got off my arse and went to Robert's this morning. He repaired the broken hangers, replaced the two cats w/ the single 59956 I had bought, and put on a magnaflow muffler. All my pipe was in good shape and didn't need replacing; the stock muffler seemed fine too. He seems like a good guy and I'd recommend him. When I get the chance I'm going to have him replace the exhaust on my '79 Chevy C20.
