hello, i need several last parts to finishoff my engine.

-The heat riser valve for the exhaust manifold (or a manifold with a working one in it)

-theres a block off nut that goes in the head, it blocks off coolant. need that

-also, a question that could lead to a need of a part. how does the temp sending unit fit into the head? is there a fitting that goes in there, then the temp sender fits in? if there is a fitting, i need that.

-also on the water return valve that fits into the head, theres a hutoff valve to turn the water off in the summer. do i need that? if i do thats another part i need.

sorry max, i havent got any of that.
wish i could help

you'll find it i'm sure

I'll look in my box of head parts to see what I have for you... I probably at least have the blocked off..

I'd forget about the heater riser and just weld it closed. If permanatly open it can heat the intake too much and crack it. With it closed it'll just take a few more min to warm up when cold...

i thougt i had some, looked at lunch but found nothing, sorry.

Remember.. colorado auto parts has a few 60's you can get these items off of.

AFAIK, the heater shutoff valve is still available from the dealer; call CDan on this. Trust me, you don't want to mess with a used one.

The extra hole in the head next to the temp sensor, in fact all three holes are 1/2"NPT pipe plug sized, so you can simply get a brass pipe plug at your local hardware store and put it in there.

The sender does take a special fitting. There are 3 different sizes, depending on what year sender you are using.

Hth

ok, well i ordered the temp sender and return valve from cdan, but i didnt want to spend 85 bucks for a shut off valve

Max I couldn't find any of the plugs last night in my box of valves and springs.. I can look more this weekend. I might be up at treeroots ;)wed night so I can grab the plugs and sender if it's there...

Wes - the heat riser is totally missing, so we can't weld it closed - can we make some sort of a plate that goes between the exhaust and intake manifolds?
Also, if you're going to be at Mike's anyway, I would appreciate if you could bring the parts - if it's not too much of a problem - otherwise we can head out there this weekend, cause there's another couplea parts we'd like to check out....
Thanks
