That Mercedes did something dumb. Look at his right-front tire track in the second pic. The FJC looks like they tried a line too high on the left and slid into Danny's hole. There might be even more erosion there now looking up hill.

Danny had a friend with him. I think her name was Amanda. Shouldn't we at least consider naming that spot after her?
I like the sign suggestion though. And another we could call "G-Waggin Hill" (maybe with a smilie face on it.)
There has to be an explanation of that roll and the line they were trying to take on that first picture. Someone was testing suspension flex or something.

if you are naming Danny's Hole after the girl, shouldn't call the one with the GWaggon "The G-Spot"? instead of a smiley the sign would have a map with "you are here".
also, i believe i know the guy standing in the Gwaggon pic. and he owns a GWaggon. i'll call him and try to find out the story. he's one of the Unimog guys i went to Chile Challenge with.
WAIT A MINUTE! that IS the guy i know. I also know the guy that owns the FJC! i've been trying to get him to a meeting. they both work at my fire dept.

that was quick. i got the story on the G. it is a guy from Santa Fe. he is very inexperienced. the FJC and the other G went through no problem. they spotted the pictured G and he missed the mark by quite a bit, and was moving faster than he was told to. when the front PS dropped, the momentum carried him over. here's the youtube vid of it:

i can't see it here at work.
Rick in the FJC is going to try and make the tree run with us. he said in the pic he wanted to go to the left side of the rut since he went right last time. the rear hit some sand or loose dirt and slid in. the strap to extricate him wanted to tip him over, so he backed it up and got out under his own power. however the rear was then straddling the rut and the front was off to the left. they filled it w/ logs and rocks and he drove out.
