Help! Does anyone know the paint code for the corner bumpers?
I'm having the rear window taken out, clearing out the rust around it and painting the back doors. I want to have the 4 corners painted the same OEM color...

[glow=black,2,2]Body shops can put a device on your paint to obtain a colour code . Not positive , but in my experience this tends to lend itself to matching your newly painted areas to the state your old areas are in . IOW's the gun will pick up the shade your paint now is .. not spit out a colour code from the factory . If you paint one area of your cruiser in a brand spanking factory colour , it may not quite match the existing paint .. of many years .[/glow]

Hey Dan,

How about a paint code for 97 with body color code C/TR202? My dealer has absolutely no clue on the grayish bumper color code. I need to touch up my bumper(rusting) and need a touch up paint but do not know the color code.
Thanks.

Dan,

What sizes are offered on these paints (thumb/touchup, rattle can, or gallon size) ?

Frank.

You will need to visit your favorite automotive paint supply house. I would imagine the minimum would be a pint or possibly a quart. Some shops can set you up with a "spraypack" which is a custom filled rattlecan.

Dan, are you saying all the bumpers from 95 to 97 are the same color?
even counting the 2 tone rigs???
E

Correct, unless painted after-the-fact by the owner or dealer.

My wife prefers to use the house color for "touching up" the bumper and fender flares.

I will second what tyler said.
this from the manager of a body shop so take it for what its worth. your paint now is not the same color it was when mr T let it out of the factory. let them san your existign color and then they will tint it to match what your color is now.
Dave

What about the black rigs? Didn't they have black bumpers?

Also, I've found that when repainting the front bumper that Hammerite grey is really close. And it is pretty durable. It doesn't chip easily and the texture helps cover rock chips. This was on a 93.
