Paint code for upper white on a LV? (1 Viewer)

this site shows it as long as you enter 66 for the year. 65 and under shows up as india ivory insted of lilly white.

Mike your the man! I had the code for lily white, but I did punch in 433 and 1453, got both to come up with formula's.

Going to get on the phone again with the auto paint guys at PPG and see if they can cross reference it. No one locally sells sherman williams auto paints.

oh, you needed the formula for olympus. I missread that, glad you found it.

The Olympus White is the white used on FJ55s, we know that much at least. In 67 when the 55 replaced the 45v they may have changed the color. Who knows...that paint sheet you posted above is coerrect for the years but it sure looks more tan that I would have thought. Keep us updated and if needed, I can probably find a clean section of the OEM white on the 45 and we can compare it to the samples. The interior colors are still a mystery to me but I have 3 45s that have the original paint in the interior and they appear to be a grey/white while the exterior is a tan/white.

Possibly lower half and roof color, not sure yet though. Wife wants to see it on a piece of metal. I figure since I'm mixing up some colors I would spray a few and let her at least look at it.

Leaning towards grey because that's what SOR is offering in colors in interior upolestry kits for the LV. I don't know if SOR will make something else for interior colors, but the wife is kinda leaning towards grey anyway so I havn't asked SOR if they could do something different.

I guess I should say that I'm obviously not concerned if it is a stock color? I told her that it doesn't have to be stock, it does have to be a period color though, preferably a factory toyota color during that time. More earth tone type stuff........I just don't want her picking out some super bling, bling metalic paint or something like that, not that she would anyway.

I beleive there was also a Salmon (like treeroots door). Lily white is pretty yellow on the book, looks more like a rim color than the hood. Best color preservation is under the tail light housings or rear gate license lamp housing.

These are the only two wagons I have found in the factory literature that appear to be a grey color. Most likely, they are the slate blue color and the photos didn't carry the color across but you never know. At least you can see what the grey will look like on the 45.

Well getting the paint code for Twighlight grey yesterday damm near was an act of god, but I did get it.

Just picked up a half pint of each, Twighlight grey, Olypus white and lily white.

I haven't shown the wife yet, but I'm thinking she's not going to like that lily white or Olympus white. Personally I'm not a big fan of either white?

I think I'll wait until I shoot some on a test panel tonight or tomorrow, I'm sure they'll look a bit different on a larger surface and dry.

Figured I would take a couple pics, so you get the idea?

If you can paint a small sample for me, I can match it up to the paint on my 45. Something small that will fit in a 37 cent style envelope. That lilly white sure looks like the stock color even though I though it was whiter than that. Olympus could be it as well if they carried the color across to the 55 line.

Sprayed Lily white and Olympus white tonight on a test panel.

Lily white is on the left / Olympus white is on the right.

Tomorrow morning after these 2 colors set up I will be able to back tape and shoot the Twighlight grey down the center.

Wife came out and looked, definetely not on board with Lily, so that's out for sure, way to creamy colored.

She's not saying much on the Olympus white yet until I spray the Twighlight grey and she can see them together. She's thinking the Olympus grey is a little to grey........

Back taped and shot the twighlight grey this morning.

Neat color, but not what the wife or myself am looking for. Not grey at all, more of a beige/brownish looking color. Like I said, nice but not right.

Very close, if not the same. Those 3 pics were taken in different conditions, so that's why I posted all 3. The first one, in the booth with the flash on his by far the closest representation of what it looks like in person. More beige/brown........

Nice color, but not going to work.

Not totally sure yet, the wife hasn't confirmed anything yet. She's 99.9% sure we won't be using those 3 colors I just posted.

Although she is leaning towards some type of white / grey combo

I wish I had done my 45LV grey and white. it really looks sharp.

watched Overhaulin' a week ago and they tricked a 50's Chevy with silver and white, threw on some Foose wheels and that piece was ROCKIN'.

It's going to look awesome either way though.


Keep in mind a lot of the jokers on here have mad skillz with photo shop.

Well, the wife confirmed last night......absolutely NONE of those colors I sprayed will work. She was pretty clear on the word none

So next batch of colors to mix up:

T-1391 - Sirrius white
T-1506 - Pan white
T-1393 - Asteroid grey
T-1620 - Athene grey

All of these are Toyota colors in the late 60's. Probably have them mixed hopefully on Monday and start shooting them that night. Hopefully I can have better luck getting those forumulas.
