P0401 - will it definitely come back?

Now starting round 2 of replacing everything. After a few days of bliss with the new EGR valve, the P0401 code is back. >:( :'(

At least the truck is idling better, so I do think that while the valve was not clogged, something was wrong with it. I have previously replaced the modulator and the VSV, but will now start again. I pulled the foam out of the mod the other day and thought it looked ok. OOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, I hate EGR. Maybe time to dump this beater and buy a different truck to wreck. :-\

Are you sure you're going to make it to 100K Junk? :flipoff2:

screw it then. I'm not even gonna mess with mine anymore. I'm convinced it is a poor design and way too sensative and can't be fixed. What's the worst that could happen? The EGR doesn't work? Oh, no! I'll get better performance and better gas mileage. So I'll spew a few more NOX into the air. I live in Chicago. I like global warming. :D

How long have you NOXius guys been running with the EGR disabled?
Do you think you are causing damage to the motor with the higher temps of the combustion chamber? If I understand the EGR system it lets exhaust gas into the motor to cool the combustion thus lower NOX.

Well, If you get more power and better MPG, one could remove the vacuum hose to the EGR and plug it.
This would turn off the EGR keeping that EVIL gas from getting into the motor.
The only problem is the CE light would be on all the time.

At this point, it's been on for about 18 months, with only a few brief vacations. >:(
