Hey Bill why didn't your truck make the trip?

Got fired back in January from the s*** hole I worked at and had to take a job making barely more than minimum wage just to make the bills. No money or vacation time to do more than a ride along on the weekends.

What does that have to do with PYS?

Go away now.

He is doing it wrong.

While he wants to exert himself in a little rubber dingy with a guy who knows what he is doing sitting behind him to get him out of any jams. We prefer to allow the river to tickle our balls while we drink ourselves stupid.

A year of planning? If you payed attention to this thread the planning part took all of about 5 min.

Oh and I figured out what PYS costed me (granted I pack light, its my 3rd year, and I had no woman with me) and it was about the same as if I had stayed home and drove to work everyday and ate food from the grocery store.

What the fuzzy is Dan still posting on this thread for, anyway?

Make reality of normal work life go away, test #1: FAIL
By forgetting to set my alarm, I was subconsciously trying to make work life go away;
All I managed to accomplish was being 28 minutes late

That means I now need to add to the alarm thing, some other method to make the other 7 hours & 32 minutes go away. Back to the lab for more tests

I spent :

5 tanks of fuel = 153.40
I had a 3/4 tank left when I got home

Groceries = 61.85
I had some stuff left to make 4 lunches

Park fees= 85.00 @ FN & 27.50 @ Washita

Ice= 18.00

That's $345.75

I left home with $300.00

Thanks Mark for fronting me $30.00
I had to get into my bill money $16.00
Thanks to everyone else who bought me bags of ice, too

Not too shabby for an awesome vacation
I would pay 10x that for the kinda awesomeness I get outta this trip

That reminds me

I owe Darel $5 and Joe $2....my bad.

It really doesnt have to be very expensive

Im serious about doing another one this year. Or at the least turning red bird into a thursday-sunday. (its too damn far for one day anyway.)

Can't get the picture to upload off of my phone but my trailer ejected a tire right as we hit Effingham. I didn't notice anything prior or even after since there weren't any real negative affects.

I was driving along watching a movie when I noticed in my peripheral that something wasn't right in my passenger side mirror. I could see a road construction barrel flying in the air and possibly a tire too. I really thought it was someone else or maybe even Ron's spare which could have somehow fallen off the trailer. Ron calls me almost immediately to tell me that it was my trailer tire! Apparently the barrel flew into his ARB bumper which saved him from any damage.

We pulled into the next exit and talked to a trailer place (only semi's though) and a Firestone. The tire guy thought he could fix it but would be hours before he could be sure. Both places recommended strapping the wheel-less axle up to level to keep the equalizer from going nuts.

Weighing all of the options I decided to try limping it home as far as I could. I used a strap with a D-ring around the axle stub up to the grab bar of my roll cage to level the trailer. It worked great but pulled the suspension of the 40 over so much it really looked crazy. I kept it at 55 the rest of the way and it was smooth the rest of the way home even if I did piss of everyone for the next couple of hours heading East on 70!

Kinda ironic that I wheeled some crazy stuff all week with no damage and then have the most damage on the highway with the least abused piece of equipment. What happened was the bearing catastrophically failed allowing the hub still bolted to the rim to slide over the axle end and fly off.

Nobody was hurt and Ron and I were able to find the rim and tire for future repairs. Overall it wasn't that bad though very exciting for a while.

PS. I also had a blast this year and am counting down the days until next year!

I'm out for next year... Just remembered I'm on IFS :(

Lemme guess.......one of the hubs that has been grease cap less and probably grease less for a long time?
Or was it off one of the axles that I had made for you and egg in my face?

I am out too....I only have All Terrain tires on my rig.

Nope...not your axle.

First day back to work, lower back is stiff, arms are sore as hell, clutch leg is alittle wobblie. Wouldn't change a thing.

Does he still have them?

He had installed one of them. Now he needs to install the other one.

Why is Smasquampsh working on my truck?

Obviously because the chupacabra cursed it and caused some sort of epic failure.
