Also, I won't condone anything to do with using these as air tanks. Lots of liability with an untested pressure vessel. There's also a good reason you never really see rectangular pressure vessels ;) doesn't mean it isn't possible to retrofit yourself though.

Heres are some better pics of the sliders and mounting. This is one of the prototypes, so it's just tacked together at the moment and doesn't have the gussets on it.

Here is what I'm playing with now. This is probably the better mounting solution, but is more difficult and takes longer to build. Not so much that I think it would increase the price. Nice thing about this is it will never let the slider shift upwards as many do. It is also removes the overhand on the lower frame which I know some like. Downside is that there will be no adjustability as far as body/slider gap goes. I think that's pretty minor though.

Looking good. That wrap around mount idea is pretty cool, but would put it in the nice to have bucket rather than have to have (IMHO). Both the transmission cross support and the rear LCA mount are lower than my Slee slider mounts. The LCA mount is quite a bit lower and is the thing I have hung up on. If folks really wanted to reduce hanging up, you would have a 1/4" plate from the rear slider mount to the bottom of LCA mount so you have a nice gradual ramp.

Maybe it’s been answered bt I didn’t see it, how many inches long are these?

I 99% ready to buy once I see how long they are.

Been a long day. Got a side finished up. I kicked out the tubing roughly 1.5" which gives a way better step. It now feels similar to the factory steps, but obviously a bit higher.

The U shaped brackets worked well too. Harder to install, but reduced the flex a ton compared to the two 1/2 bolts at the bottom.

Since the pinch weld is now exposed (barely), I'm going to add a strip of 3/16 to cover that area with some gusseting.

These things are incredibly strong now and can never shift up into the body like others do.

I'll post more photos as I get more work done on the prototypes.

Look great! I think the extra 1.5” width is spot-on for both a good step and a little more protection, compared to version 1. When can I come pickup a set in ABQ 😁

Hopefully soon! I need to finish up the other side which should go quick. Then build the jigs and start cranking out some sets. Hopefully less than a month, but don't quote me on that.

Oops

Just for reference too, my truck has 295/70/18 with the 1.25" spidertrax spacers. They match the tire stick out nicely, but will stick out further than the tires on a stock truck.
