Not a 200 owner, but if your referring to the southeast expo than yes. I have been scouting places with a few folks on the board in search for suitable trails and areas to hang out

I am talking about the 2011 Overland Expo in Amado, Arizona.

When an where is the SE expo?

Yeah, I'm planning on going. Even waiting to coordinate with some other guy but haven't heard from him yet because he apparently lost my email address while he's off galavantin' around. ;)

SE event is proposed to be an ExPo regional event, the one we were talking about earlier that the folks in Georgia were trying to put together from the ExPo forums. They haven't nailed any locations or dates down yet.

Bloo,

I am sorry to hear that some guy has failed to get back to you about the Overland Expo, but I'm pretty sure if you checked your .mil email you would find a message dated the 22nd at about 1312 (A-stan time.)

As far as the SE event, if they have no locations or dates, what about the Overland Experts training facility in Orange VA? Just give me the word and I will email Garrett.

By the way how did the truck turn out?

Liberty bell sounded at 1400, 21 JAN. My T/O weapon (Dell Inspiron) was secured.

That's a good idea; I think 8,600 acres and the training sites that they have built will more than meet the needs of this event but I don't know how much acreage is available for camping and what sort of support facilities are there, i.e., heads, showers, pavilions, etc., that might be ExPo requirements; but I'm sure it's doable. Why don't you shoot an email to Garrett and tell him about this ExPo thread? If he has any questions he can give me a holler too since you have time and distance working against you right now.

Getting closer... waiting to get the truck on a lift to burn in the new rear leaf spring hangers, mount the ALCAN's and add the new ICON shocks. Mount the new crossmember. Mod the front frame horn end-caps for strength for when I have to winch the 8,500 lb 200 out of some muck-hole. ;)

Talked to your A-driver a couple days ago about your plans - no worries - I've got a couple guides from when I was last out there; I'm GTG. I'll put a little effort into a route plan in the interim -- nothing fancy since we have to make distance in little time and I'm solo.

please take pics both of 100 sereis and 200 series available products; I would love to attend but just don't have the time. Looking for tents and camping equipment; water storage etc. thanks

Is anyone else going to the Overland Expo in April?

I didn't realize it was right here in AZ! Just an hour south of me! I'm thinking about it now...

r3run33,

The wife took 700+ pictures during our Labrador Highway trip, so let me assure you there will be plenty of pictures.

Bloo,

Really Bloo this hurts, "winch the 8,500 lb 200 out of some muck-hole". I hope not, that's why I went and bought those 285/75/R17 Toyo Open Country M/T tires.

As for a route, it's whatever you want, but I would like to see as much scenery as we can (as long as it's not tan and brown) before I have to come back here.

JBHorne,

It would be good to see another 200 at the Expo.

thanks i will check for the pics by the way are you using a hannibal tent? also check for water storage and showers set ups thanks again

It's all good --- it's all good. You'll get some green and brown but it will have a bunch of color too; the desert will be splashed with all sorts of color from the flowering plants and brush. Can't wait for us to go skipping through the desert picking flowers to decorate the trucks with...

Bloo,

First off, I don't skip, I'm just not that coordinated. To be honest, I still have a hard time with the whole left - right - left concept, so skipping is definitely out of the question.

Second, the 200 can't be decorated like a jingle truck. It has something to do with the warranty. I think it's on page 927 of the owners manual. It says something about any attempt to use the Land Cruiser as a jingle truck will void the warranty and may also be punishable by a flying judo chop to the duodenum. And before you ask, yes, I had to look that up.

So who's going? As this is only 30 minutes south of me, I told the wife I don't have an excuse NOT to go...so I'll be there. It would be fun to meet the other 200-series owners!

ROFL - oops - I think I squirted a little... and no, it's not that I'm that old and it's to be expected.

Wow, I have to admit I'm a little surprised here. I always found on ship that Marines were excellent dance partners. I guess all skills are perishable without repitition.

LOL -- dude - you're killing me here... when was that last time your read anything that had that more pages than a DC comic book? Seriously. :hhmm:

Meh... Only a dozen or so ever show up for these things...

Seriously, last year I don't recall seeing a 200; there was all manner of vehicle there though. You have absolutely NO excuse to drive 30 minutes south on I-19 and not go. It really was a lot of fun to meet the folks you converse with or observe on the usual forums, see the different vehicles, builds, get new ideas, deplete your savings when you buy stuff you can't do without, make new friends, or meet legends like sbly and bloo.

JBHorne,

See you at the expo.

Bloo,

While on ship with the Navy, we never got the mandatory "15 minutes of dance time" each day that the rest of the marines got. As a recon guy, we were strictly lead farmers, so we had to spend our time either in the fields tending to our crops or clean our farming equipment.

I never said I read the owners manual I just looked at all the pictures. Before you ask, because I now it's coming, yes I did use my USMC issued crayons to color in all the pictures.

The wife signed us up for about 9,000 classes today for the expo. Did you get a chance to pick any classes yet?

My wife is asking me what the heck am I laughing at... man, there is no way I can top that... uncle - uncle.

They have some pretty interesting classes this year. Like, "Anticipating the emotional needs of your Assistant Driver," and "Techniques for managing the flatulent overlander in a closed environment."

I'm going to do the day pass for $15 this year and pay for camping. There's a lot of offerings available for the day packages.

Stay safe shipmate.
