Thought I start a thread here for my build. I won't update often but I hope someone takes interest in it.
I've bought a basket case FJ40 and disassembled it, groundbreaking I know...
First I went to work designing bumpers that have EVERY option I feel I may want so I can build in stages as I see fit.

Front:
1. OEM inspired
2. two tow points for 3/4" D-shackles. (may double for flat towing)
3. Room for auxillary lights
4. Winch and fairlead (8274)
5. Room for bush bar (future)
6. License plate
7. Fairlead protection
8. Place for hilift to grab (use D-shackles?)
9. bolted on
10. Painted OEM silver
11. place for winch light (future)
12. roller to protect spring shackles (unlikely to add)
13. Stronger than stock
14. Saginaw plate

Rear (bumper/tire rack):
1. OEM inspired
2. two tow points for 3/4" D-shackles.
3. brake/tail/reverse light
4. auxillary work light
5. winch and fairlead (Tabor 9K)
6. Spare tire holder THAT SWINGS OUT AND DOWN TO GROUND
7. fuel jug holder
8. 2" trailer receiver with chain holes
9. license plate with light
10. trailer 4&7 pin plug
11. wrap around body protection
12. Place for hilift to grab (use D-shackles?)
13. roller to protect spring shackles (unlikely to add)
14. stronger than stock

Attached are screen shots of the progress on that front. I hope to start the slow fab work soon.

The reason I put this in Hardcore is I have the following parts:
Hummer H1 army wheels that are dual beadlock
FJ 80 axles (still need front) with E-Locker and 4.88 gears.
Spring over with anti wrap bar on rear axle
Dual winches
Snorkel
Entire back of tub is 1/8" steel and angle iron as it was rusted out BAD

Plan for:
Exhaust snorkel
sliders
skid plate
FJ80 third row seats if it will fit.
more to come...
Chris

Nice modeling... how's the build coming?

Having a 2.5 year old and 6 month old twins has REALLY slowed my progress, however I have been working whenever time allows. Really just started the fab work lately.
A few recent pictures of the Model along with one of the current front bumper. I took the picture with my cheap camera. I'll have to take a better one.

Looks like a lot of progress since I saw it last year!

Good to see you on here

ps. this is Jeremy by the way ;)

could you send my your Solid works files? I am not as swift with solidworks as I am with auto cad but Your files would save me a lot of work for my own stuff. Nice job on the bumpers by the way.
