I've searched, believe me I have... As of several months ago, the overdrive button located on the shifter has not worked to turn off the overdrive. At first I thought it was just that the dash light that says O/D off was out but then after some acceleration tests with the button engaged and disengaged I found it made no difference in the shifting. I'm pretty sure that it's stuck in overdrive since the RPMs at speed seem reasonable and our mileage has remained in the same as usual range of 12-16 mpg.

Any insight is appreciated.

I just replaced my shifter knob and accidentally busted the innards for the overdrive button, did you ever find a repair for this

I broke mine recently as well messing around with my shifter. A new OE replacement was only like $30 iirc. You do have to pull the console though.
