Hi all
As requested some more photos of my over head console.
The console fits into my 82 Forty series and is attached to the following fixing points
4 sun visor incapsulated nuts and 2 rear vision mirror incapsulated nuts.
I have made 2 brackets that fit over the internal roof gutter . These brackets are clamped to the roof gutter.
I will make holes in the front windscreen to run and hide my cables . These cables could be run external if putting holes into your windscreen frame is not desired.
This mounting means that no extra holes are needed to support the console.
I have incorporated the sun visor and rear vision mirror into the design although I have not included photos.

Now for the good stuff what is in the console.
From left to right.
3 missile switches . Air locker safety, PTO winch engage safety, air pump. Next electric trailer brakes. Next aux fuel gauge, next vacuum gauge next dual air gauge , next tacko. Next entertainment programme selector, next front diff, rear diff lock , winch engage . Next interior lights, fuel tank change over , spot lights next GPS and entertainment centre. Next CB , next TV interface, next fuse box and GPS tracking unit.
If you want more info just ask.
Cheers

Now for the colour coordinated dash.
All I need now is to finish my build so I can play with these goodies.

Great job Bambi girl. Looks like you have aircraft experience with the neat wiring job. Good luck with your build!

Pretty innovative...

Can't wait to see the final product

Wow, that's a nice console mate.

Do you have any concerns of hitting your head if you were to have an accident? What's the measurement from the windscreen to facia?

TV receiver too! Awesome.

Hi Dancar
I will post the measurements of the console tomorrow along with a photo of the sun visor fitted . This will give you a good idea in size.
Hitting your head was a big consideration in the design.
Also it was of concern head clearance getting in and out of the vehicle so the height is set not to protrude any lower than the top of the windscreen.
The width of the sun visor is close to width of the console.
For testing I sat and strapped my mate Big John 7 ft something into the drivers seat and the passenger seat with the instructions try and hit your head.
Result pass.
Do you happen to know the width of the SOR shelf? This would be good for comparison.
The TV is neat yes but what is good is the reversing camera.
Cheers

Hi Johnny and Weber Sarge
Thank you for your kind comments .
Work wise I run a small machine shop. I have had a life time of building machines so the wiring is just another skill I have picked up over the years. Self taught.
In answer to Weber Sarge I can not show the finished item fitted as the body is in pieces , however I can show you the mounting bars that are fitted to the wind screen .
The console then mounts to these bars. Would that help?
Cheers

Very cool. I may build something similar mounted to the front hoop... That way it'd stay put when the roof doesn't.

Dual Air Guages? Are you running airbags or?

I like the idea of the dual Guages, but I'd rather not pay $50 for one, where did you find yours?

Hi Bikermurf
Thank you for your comments.
The dual air gauge.
This was an EBay buy NOS. I believe this gauge was designed for the heavy transport industry . Made by Smiths England this is the top shelf quality gauge. I have had many comments made to me about this gauge and were would one buy one ? No idea.
Air usage. And why a double gauge.
Side one will be air tank pressure and side two air pressure for the Arb diff lockers.
I am fitting a PTO winch and I do not want the gear lever coming into the cab so I am putting an air cylinder in to operate the PTO box.
The other air use is tyre inflation.
I hope this answers your questions.
Cheers

The mounting bar photo I'm sure would help a lot . The plan I have is to hard mount a sub-frame and make simple attachment points for the console off that frame . Even thought of hinges on part of it to allow the console to drop down for working on wiring or the top itself if needed , aircraft style .

Yes, excellent score on the dual-swing air gauge , those aren't cheap .

Hi BambiGirl, wee you going to post up a parts list..?? What is the channel you are using for the frame and mounting of the equipment to etc. very nice job with this panel. Thanks for sharing!

Hi DTSky Cop
Sorry on the delay.
Some thing to do with work getting in the way of my build.
I hope these photos help.
The first fix is to the windscreen using the existing fixings for the sun visor and rear view mirror.
The second fix is the interface between the windscreen and the console.
The sides of the console are fixed to the channel bracket that attaches to the door / roof channel.
This channel bracket takes most of the weight.
Feel free to ask questions.
Cheers

Hi all
A few more photos this time taken during the build.
In these photos you can see the mounting points.
To cut the holes in the front panel to mount gauges etc I used a mill.
Laser or water cutting would have been a lot quicker.

Cheers
