I know some planning was done yesterday at Luis' as far as activties go - sorry I missed that part of the event (had a great time otherwise, thank you to everyone!), but in talking with Justin today we've got quite the list of things to do to our 80's. I wanted to toss this one out and see what sticks - I really don't have any plans at the moment (my schedule has been awful for the last few months, and isn't looking much better into the near future either) - but I do know I'd like to get a lot of this knocked out before GSMTR comes around.
FLCA days planned for the next few months, as I understand it:
March 9 - Richloam
April 20 - Tech Session
May 13 - 18 - GSMTR 2013
June 22 - Hardrock
July 20 - Tech day
So with that said, here's the list:
Carter:
[strike]- PHH redo
- Rad flush
- Upper & lower rad hoses replaced
- Temp mod for coolant temp
- EGR bypass & removal[/strike]
- U-joints replaced
- Rear LCA bushings replaced
- Possible other front suspension bushings replaced
- A/C compressor bearing replaced
[strike]- Valve cover gasket replaced, spark plug tubes replaced, PCV valve replaced
- Upper engine inspection (while valve cover is off)
- Clean EGR port in throttle body[/strike]
- Winch fixed (missing hardware)
- Break line replace, system flush
[strike]- Fuel filter[/strike]
Justin:
[strike]- Transfer case rebuild[/strike]
- Rear O2 sensor bypass
- A/C compressor bearing replaced
- Battery terminals replaced
- winch remounted (new one)
[strike]- EGR bypass & removal
- Valve cover gasket replaced, new hardware (bolts?)
- Upper engine inspection (while valve cover is off)
- Clean EGR port in throttle body
- 4" lift[/strike]
- Front u-joints
[STRIKE]- Knock Sensor[/STRIKE]
Oh yeah... and
[strike]HEAD GASKET[/strike]
Danny:
[STRIKE]- Body lift
- Oil pump cover
- Front main seal
- Front brake calipers[/STRIKE]
- Transfer case output seal
Guys, chime in if I've missed something, but as you all can see it's a fairly long list. We have all the parts for these jobs... they've been queueing up for quite some time now. This might be something more than just a single tech day - and even if it wasn't, this list would certainly monopolize the time, and for some of this stuff it's do-or-die.
So part of the thinking is that maybe the 3 of us get together and do what we can when we can manage, or maybe we have another session somewhere else to help knock it out. This brings up the last part of the problem - where to do it. While I have a decent garage, it's not equipped to handle this kind of day of work, so I'd like to work with someone in the area - maybe closer to Tampa than Orlando - that could handle what might be a 2-day session.
