OK, so the leak is coming from the pipe connection (elbow) at the transmission?

So it could be that he didn't use a new OEM Toyota O-ring (Transaxle case elbow) or damaged or forgot to install the oil ring for that connection??
For the A343F transmission elbow that O-ring 90311-11006 but double check to see if it's the same part for the A442 ATM??

IME Toyota O-rings are a specific size (and material) for their application that are often hard to find an exact duplicate ie: generic O-rings made in Chynuh may look to be similar but end up not sealing correctly.

Worst case scenario is he cross-threaded the elbow into the transmission.

Photos of the linkage might help, or just wait for the mechanic to get back in there.

Thanks Kernal, helps a lot. Will try sending more pictures of Linkage.

Any idea about the rubbing sound/feel from gear lever as per my video? Could be related to the linkage I guess, I need to put my head down there and see how the bushes feel. Have you seen this before? it was definitely not like that before they dropped the tranny.

One WAG, if the mechanic didn't get the bolts for the transmission mount and/or transmission support cross-member tight or missed a couple (or same for the bolts attaching the Transmission to the engine), then when you first shift into gear there could be (abnormal) movement of the transmission from the torque??

From your description something is moving, twisting, scuffing, binding that shouldn't.

ok thanks mate will have a look. losing 10mL of ATF every 30mn of engine running (parked) and had a 4h drive to do today, might not risk it even though should be ok topping off the ATf halfway through or at destination. Might not be worth the risk if something is twisted
