I removed the rear troop seats from my 80 to make as much room as possible for my dogs. I’m trying to make it as safe and comfortable for them as possible and want to cover those anchor ports on the floor. Just throwing a blanket over them isn’t enough, they can still trip or get their paw stuck. People getting creative at all with this? I miss my 60 the back was pure bed.

Weathertech or husky cargo liner a consideration ? Otherwise it seems like a 3d print request.

Maybe sliding thin layer of cardboard/luon/etc between carpet and mat? Would probably be best not to bee full floor size to allow rubber nubbins to still engage pile for traction b/w carpet and mat.

Have not seen a factory or aftermarket cover option for those.

Give you dogs a little more credit they won’t stick the paw in that little hole 🤷‍♂️

might make a flap cut to access the tiedowns.
That should work well but I'll share something that I've experienced with this mat in case it helps you avoid similar problems.

I made some hasty cuts one day to allow the 3rd row seats to lock in. These worked ok given I needed the seats quickly and I just used a pocket knife to hack the access points but the jagged cuts ran in a few places and have gotten really long/large over time. The material is pretty flimsy so cutting is easy but it then can tear along ridges/seams pretty easily I found. I'm planning to buy a new one of these mats and then cut the holes I need more carefully, with round edges and not with corners along existing seams/ridges. The holes that I cut for the tie downs, more carefully, have not run or had any issues and I cut them long before I added the seat access holes.

Hmmm... rounded corners for sure, and maybe figure out a way to reinforce the edges somehow. Maybe some of that U-channel rubber trim that people sometimes use on cut fenders...

Thanks for the input, I'll give it some thought.

What about a low platform that's easily removable? I cobbled one together with scrap wood for a road trip last year in my 4runner, and ended up leaving it in. Really like having tools/gear underneath, with a full bed for the dogs up top (cheap foam camp pads) - also gives them a better view, without being too high.

If you use your 2nd row seats regularly, not the best option.

Otherwise, personally I'd just find a thin pad (yoga mat/etc) that you can cut to fit & use as needed.

Sure, maybe the anchors will never be an issue - but if I spent time in the back, I'd also want to cover them. Dogs will be fine, but why not make it better for them, when it's so easy 🤷‍♂️

Thanks and looks like you did it right! Nice build out and some good looking dogs! That’s exactly it. I’m not completely worried they’ll break a leg. More so it’s just not as comfortable as perfectly flat especially when they’re walking around back there. I’ve done the yoga mat under a blanket before but it tends to slide around. Not the end of the world, just curious what other people are doing.

I was thinking about 3D printing as well. Some kind of clamp over the anchor that has a flat top flush with the carpet. Then throw a rug over it. Wonder if people would buy those. Will show prototypes if I do it.

A 200 series rear floor mat (a little easier to get used) covers them up nice, has very nice LandCruiser markings, is
sturdy and thicker and fits good in the rear
