I believe that when you start playing to the rear screen it comes down on it's own. However, the IR remote coding is somewhat universal an you can buy a generic remote off Amazon that will work.

That’s a good idea. Thanks!

how do I tell the front unit to play on the back screen?

Wait what?

Where exactly? I spent quite a bit of time looking for it
On my ‘09 LX, I believe you had to have the E-Brake engaged to access the DVD menu on the front screen (it would also play the movie on the front screen). At least that’s the only way I ever figured to control it.

On my 2010 LX, we can control the DVD menu from the front while driving. Can’t watch the movie up front while driving, of course.

Wait, so any generic amazon / ebay remote would work for it? I just bought a 2011 LC and it didn't come with a remote, so I've been looking everywhere for an aftermarket one to no avail yet

Correct. I did this and use a universal remote with a programming file from mud. Works great.
