Special Service Campaign JLG

I am posting this multiple places since new and current owners may not be aware. Yes. There are bypass options but this is FREE as well.

Confirm extended warranty campaigns/recalls here----> https://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrive...safety-recalls

8.8.2019

*****This has been previously posted but new owners will not likely find buried in a long thread.

2010-2013 GX 460 owners:

Special Service Campaign for Air Injection Pumps and Air Switching Valves.

Status: Remedy Available

Description: There is a possibility that moisture in the air may cause a filter in the vehicle emissions system to degrade. This degradation could cause damage to other parts of the vehicle emission system and illuminate the check engine light.

REMEDY: On Customer Demand any authorized Lexus dealer will replace the filter in the air injection pump with one of an improved design and replace the air switching valves in the vehicle emissions system FREE OF CHARGE. The dealer will inspect the air injection pump for damage and may replace the air injection pump as needed FREE OF CHARGE.

Year and mileage limits do not apply to this special service campaign.

Background info:

Previous campaigns started at 10 years (warranty inception date) or 150K miles after a failure and then moved to 10 years/unlimited mileage. The campaign currently has no year or mileage limits and can be requested on demand.

Got this done the other day. Lexus of Wayzata in Minnesota did the air pump AND airbag recalls in 4hrs. They also offered a free loaner, filled up our truck with premium, washed and dried it, and made me aware of a brand new water pump leak. My girls loved the treats and clean bathrooms!

I had the Uni filter installed. They saved it for me and didn’t hesitate to do the work even though I had modified the part. Thanks!

I also had the same work done last week on my '10 but they didn't fill up my tank! They didn't wash it either because of my hitch bike rack. They gave me an RX loaner and it took about the same amount of time. I swapped out my uni-filter before I brought it in.

Got this done too at local dealer, they were kind enough to baggie my unimod and place it on the passenger seat :D. Kudos to the guys at Bergstrom Lexus, they sure as hell made a loyal customer out of me.

I called my local dealer a month or so ago and they said they'll only do it if it fails...
Did any of the guys posting have yours serviced after it failed? Or before??
Or is my dealer being lazy.

Mine had not failed.

Maybe I'll check again. This time I'll drive up instead of calling and press the point.

I have a 2013 and have not heard/seen anything about this yet from my dealer.
But again, I went in to ask about having the air filter pump thing taken care of the and they said, "Wait until yours goes out."
Thanks Lexus! :flipoff2:

Mine was done before I bought it. Guess I could contact the selling dealer to see if they have a "correction certificate".

I just got this recall done at Putnum Lexus in Redwood City. When I dropped the car off, I asked the service advisor if they would be removing my uni filter, but it seemed like he either did not know about the filter, the service required for the recall, or just wanted to get rid of me. He said that all the work would be performed in the area of the engine, and said the filter wouldn't be touched. Fortunately, the tech put the uni filter in a baggie and left it for me in the car.

Like 22Eyunu35VO, the state of California required me to get this service done before I can renew my registration. This is the first time I've been forced by the state to perform a recall. Is that a new practice?

Has anyone taken in their GX for this lately? Are dealerships still fixing this issue?

I have the cel/4lo flash/trac off lights and will be contacting my local dealer tomorrow. I just picked up a '12 with 107k and great service record. Nothing about recalls however.

I have heard of nothing that this open recall / special service campaign is still not open. You should be fine taking into Lexus of Seattle in Lynnwood.

Even if nothing shows up here you should still be clear for this free repair

Thank you Acrad. My concern was the fact that nothing showed up when I put my VIN in the finder.

I'll be contacting Seattle Lexus tomorrow morning to get this sorted out. I also bought a uni filter as a bit of preventative maintenance once this is fixed.
