nice power wagon duo. did you just text the salesman the whole time?
Yes, went to text only after a quick conversation to confirm they had the truck I was looking for and at the end she called to make sure everything went smooth when I took possession.

Not sure why but female salesmen are always better to deal with.

I haven't notice a difference in XX v. XY performance. To me, it's either good/decent/sh*t across the board.

I will not say never, but my current mind set is that I will never buy a new vehicle again. I so much prefer old iron and I can build myself something cool that is reliable for less money. I just don't find any soul in any of the new vehicles to the point I don't really look.

Heather has a 1995 Dodge ram 3500 extended cab dually with 12 valve Cummins. We have about $18K into it, pumps replaced, new injectors, front end rebuilt and aligned, re did entire interior, bed liner (only in the bed) stereo and all new primary wiring and batteries. We are going to put a new trans in it and should be done for a while.

Similar truck new is over $80K and is a depreciating asset. Where the 1995 is an appreciating asset, selling for north of $30K currently. Funny thing is, all Heather's riding buddies really dig her 95 truck and custom 93 trailer, with tack/dressing room and on board water. They all think she's cool while they drive around in a newer truck and trailer.

I saw a dodge ram cummins of that era on TV once with close to 900k on the ODO and it was still running. I'm pretty sure the new ones won't make it that far, but that's just speculation given the race to the bottom of most things I have seen in my short time on earth.

Possibly adding this to the fleet.

Healthcare insurance - the second largest legalized theft program on the planet, right behind taxes. The same happened to me when my almost $100k gailbladder came out.

Feel this, we had a baby in February and hit our $7800 family plan deductible, then our son went to the ER and we're not yet to our "out of pocket max" of over $10k for the year. Through my employer the high deductible plan is over $500/mo taken from pay.

My favorite part of health insurance is that eyes and teeth don't count as "health" and you need extra plans. Let alone navigating in vs out of network, providers, maximizing HSA/FSA dollars, etc. It's intentionally complex to hide the flow of money and protect the bureaucracy.

Eyes, teeth, mental health etc..... As a health care business major I almost count it as a blessing I never found a foothold..... graduated with that degree during the last market crash and noooooo one was hiring for anything and then after the economy started to recover it was the nice paradox of you need X amount of experience years to get this job and I should have been working in the field before getting my degree..... also at the same time entry level jobs when I was in college was ...... you need a degree to get this job and still a few years experience... LMAO.

Anyway until healthcare gets their costs regulated we can just continue on under this system. Fun times.

The medicine 3.0 revolution is going to hopefully put a hurting on the healthcare thieves. I understand for acute care however from a prevention and maintence standpoint the current syst suxs. Highly recommend the book, Outlive.

Newest acquisition.

2005 Mini Cooper S track toy. It’s stripped inside with a welded half cage, buckets and 5pt harnesses, lots of go fast bits and some very nice coilovers and other suspension bits. Should be a fun run around, even with the AC and PS delete. Currently on 100TW tires but getting some 200TW put on next week.

Will be using it for some autocross and track days and some spirited trips around town.

Was not sure where to put this and how in the heck have I not seen this before today?

Some of you may know about this truck from my days at USNWC, 02 7.3, which I purchased with 34k miles on it. It has served us well over the past 11 years. Pulling many trailers for moving, dove tail trailers w tractor, and the standard farm truck duties. Over the past year, it has received a stage 1 modification (160cc Rosewood Injectors, Hydra w Jelli, Banks Exhaust Brake, XDP xtra radiator, Mishimoto Transmission Cooler, CNC stage 1 HPOP, & a bunch of other miscellaneous modifications). The reason for the modifications was the purchase of the 33’ 4 horse trailer w LQ.

offta for a second I thought it was a Z06 but the Z51 suspension package is still damn nice. Still the nicest car on the market that doesn't cost hundreds of thousands of doll hairs

My daily driver. I keep 6-10 cars/trucks with this being my newest. Lol. It’s a 1999.

Don’t be fooled by the collection. They are all old, high mileage good running drivers with their own gremlins, but I too love the vintage cars over new. Never bought a new one myself.

Oh yeah, the only car not titled and insured is the Super Beetle. I have a sickness.

I’m sure many here including myself have that same mindset. I’d rather have 4 $10,000 cars than a single $40,000 car!

Love the clownshoe.
