The most snow we've seen here yet! Around 8 inches before the sleet and freezing rain started, now it's snowing again. I figure we may see a plow by Wed, maybe. I'll probably put the bucket on the tractor and clean up around here tomorrow. I moved hay yesterday, that thing needs a heated seat.

I have been wanting to go down to baja since forever.
Some of my friends that were older than me back in the 90s used to jump in an old suburban and drive through Mexico to go surf in Baja California. They would be gone for a month or two.

Im jumping in with a group of 10 vehicles to finally go next month.
My plan is to drive the 80 to Yuma AZ and link up with the group on February 27 and be down in baja until March 10. On the way back I’m going to head up to Utah or north rim of the Grand Canyon and explore for a few days before making my way to Mason TX for the landcruiser roundup from March 16 to the 20th before making my way back to NC.

I’m pretty stocked. The 80 is basically ready to go but I’m debating if I want to go through the trouble of regearing to 4:88 before the trip.
Either way I’m itching to go. The only thing that could prevent me from not going right now is if the VA though something at me that was a no miss event but I’m just going to plan as if that is not going to happen and prepare to go. It is kind of a short notice but since I was really wanting to go to roundup this year and the timing worked out to be able to squeeze a baja trip before hand and do it with a group instead of by myself.

I’m so stocked.

That is quite a bit more than Johny and I saw this morning on our way back from asheboro. We were the only people on the road for the most part.
Yeah this is in Todd, NC and around 3600 feet. They’re saying we might get another 2-4” overnight.

Loving the SL. Future classic. About to turn the hockey stick on price. Truly one of the greats on four wheels

The one under the cover is our driver. The one with the top cover is a future project sure to piss off the purists.

I get confused as to how this is a question up for debate, doing my FJC was critical to it's performance, the 80 series even more so with the balance of power-weight then adding over-gearing thru larger diameter tires...all adds up to it being a no-brainer from my personal experience. If we over-gear with tires, it's obvious (to me) one needs to adjust with changing the ratio at the rear diff.

And, as a younger man, I had a friend with a VW Synchro camper van that we would drive to surf Baja, great adventures, enjoy 😎

No doubt I need the gearing. No argument there. Going back to 315s I knew I would need to regear.
My hesitation was that I was basically being lazy and not wanting to pull the thirds.

Enjoy it, Baja is one of my favorite places

Crazy bright last night with the snow on the ground and the full moon. This picture was in my driveway at 12:25 am last night.

If this holds true, then we will finally get another performance toyota in the US, first one since 1997.
Will be the first rally inspired toyota.on sale here since 93. They've been teasing this since saying we won't get the Yaris GR here.

Meat Loaf died yesterday, RIP. Google "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" if you do not know.

I am sitting here thinking how old all my rock & roll favorites are. I'll be 62 next month and more and more I will think about someone from my past and it pops in my head "We'll hell, they're dead by now" Weird, I know. I do have faith though, I'll be buying tickets to see Keith and Mick on the Oxygen and Walker tour when I am 70 :)

I got more snow here in SC two weeks ago than my hometown in PA got in this last blizzard this weekend.
