Mostly children.
It was not uncommon I'd get accosted by hairdressers on the street.
That was actually several years before I cut it. By the time I did, it stretched to my belt.
Didnt know your name used to be Caitlyn?

Some friends of mine are playing at Newberry Opera House 1/28/17. Ride The Lightning - The Ultimate Metallica Tribute. Sarah and I are gonna go see them. Anybody interested in going? @tabraha ? I'm mostly wanting to see a metal band play an 1881 concert hall! It's a 2-hour haul from CLT. Just throwing this out there.

Anyone know a place that can repair a Galaxy S7 screen? Samsung won't do out-of-warranty work and none of the local repair places will touch it. And no, don't have insurance.
If you can dodge a wrench, you dodge a ball!
Wait, whut...
Here's all you need to know. But the replacement parts are nearly $190, so maybe time to get a new phone?

Annual birthday trip to Asheville. Jason and I got to Ben's place about 10:30. Took along filter #1 from the engine build .... Ben gave official thumbs up that everything looked great. He gave a listen to the motor and said it sounded great too. Then it was off to the Moose Cafe. A very good day.

Does anybody else think it might be a good idea to swap out wheel lugs next time we're doing brakes or an axle rebuild? At least two of us have now had wheels break loose in the last year. I'd wager that most of us still have the originals and they were probably never torqued by hand until we took possession of the truck. Hmmm, one more thing for the list. Time to call Scott Clark or FAT.

Definitely yes had it happen on our 80

Mine sheered off in October. I got real lucky the tire got captured in the weel. I replaced all studs and lugs. I would certainly recommend it especially considering the realitively low cost

Yes, 100% absolutely. Look at it as preventative maintenance. However, the majority of the time a stud fails it's due to overt-orquing or under-torquing (usually under-torquing) the lug nuts.

Right on, years of overtorquing create the necking of the bolt, they move into a different phase and get brittle-er, and snap....

A fairly significant amount of research has gone into this. Generally, especially on aluminum wheels, the torque applied to the lug is fine (for us, not for some tire shop with an impact), but then some settling occurs at the nut/wheel interface which allows for looseness. This is where the much of the failure process begins. An occasional re-torque is the key. There is some research that also shows once the wheel has been through many removals it does not hold torque like it did when new.

Once the wheel holes are wallowed out time to ditch it or make it a spare.

As one that chased a tire down the highway, I say yes!!!!!

If you do decide to order them from a local Toyota dealer - skip Vann York Toyota. Not trying to be a jerk but is this typical?

  1. Call the dealership parts department - yep we have the part - we'll order it - it'll be in tomorrow - we'll call you when it arrives
  2. Tomorrow comes, credit card charged... no phone call
  3. Next day, still no call
  4. Third day, I call them. After being put on hold for a while "Yep it's here"
  5. Asked them why they didn't call me: "I did call you yesterday - spoke to a woman and she said she'd let you know"
  6. Which is a complete and total lie: No missed calls, this is my cell #, nobody answers my cell.... and if they had, I would see it on the call log
  7. Showed up to parts counter - and there's the dude I spoke to, 50 feet away staring at a screen
  8. Ignores me for 10 solid minutes
  9. So I tell some lady at the service (not parts) counter that I need some help
  10. She goes and tells the guy - he responds with "well he's just gonna have to wait, I'm busy"
  11. Another 5 minutes goes by, no apology, no "please" no "thank you" just gives me the part and says basically nothing

I don't need them to kiss my ass, but saying you're going to call, not calling then lying about it? Sitting there ignoring me at your counter for 10 minutes? After going out of your way to make me wait on purpose, no "sorry about that" or "really busy around here" or some other explanation?

I blame him specifically - but I don't necessarily blame him enough to complain to Toyota... I just don't plan on ever going there again.

Oh and if someone on here works for Vann York and wants to know the guy's name please send me a note directly> That way, if it's you that's an a****** I can save you that public embarrassment.

I think they scan your current friend list with others' lists and look for similarities. Also if someone comments on a post that you commented on a mutual friend's page...7 degrees of Kevin Bacon is basically what they are doing.

When I first signed up it seemed to know a bunch of my high school friends right out of the gate. I think if someone has ever searched for your name on FB it goes into the algorithm too. Most of the suggestions I get these days are likely other MUD'ers that I don't formally know.

It also CAN view your phone contacts and email address book if you've given it the specific permissions. A lot of times you will see people who you recently called or added to your phone contacts, even if you have no associations on Facebook.

I have some obvious names listed in the PYMK list, but today I noticed some that have ZERO to do with anything other than I had an email exchange with them years ago and they're still in my contacts list. They literally have nothing to do with my personal, professional or other contacts. The email address I used with them has no correlation to my actual name or my Facebook name and no longer exists. I'm pretty sure that I have some pretty strict privacy setting on FB but I guess I need to confirm that. Basically, there's no chance that the people in question could ever randomly find my FB page or that of anybody I've liked or commented on. Damn FB.
