As iv said repeatedly i don't care about what else you have built and wheeled its just not relevant to the point i made originally. Theres plenty of pictures of my front end on this forum and all over the net, not hard for anyone who is interested to find. But im not going to further fuel this argument. You totally blame me for clogging up the thread but you will find your contribution was much worse, full of below the belt jabs and statements about me, i had none of that and at least kept what i was about straight forward rather than stooping to personal insults and dreamed up titles. Its funny as soon as i bring up that this is good for Binks you get all high horse and decide thats enough and tell me to leave it.

Admittedly you guys probably copped a bit of built up frustration about the numerous bars that have popped up that are very similar to my own which is not deserved as binks has made it clear hes been doing this design for a while, so its not warranted. But you can see where im coming from, i also think you handled it very poorly, to many insults and not enough content in your posts or addressing the points i made. This probably would have been over many posts ago had you kept it straight rather than making it personal.

Regarding South, Apologies for this guy, hes seriously a homing beacon to threads im posting in. Happened a few times now ill be having a discussion and he will just pop up and start attacking me and the way iv setup my car even when its nothing to do with the topic or him, hes got a massive axe to grind for whatever reason as as is evident in this thread has NFI what day it is.

Honestly, as has been said there is only so many ways to skin a cat. We did this bumper way back in 2003

and then production versions of that later. It has been copied a lot, blatantly and not so blatantly, with and without recognition. One can simply not get butt hurt about it since the shape of the truck dictates a lot of what comes out of the design.

I would believe that ours was way before MJ80. In that same time frame, Alan Podvin did bumpers that covered the marker / indicator lights as well. Similar to what MJ80 did. So one has to just let it go and live with it.

Hell, even in the large commercial world it is happening with Ironman copying ARB designs.

Would love to see pics of what he did as id never seen it done before, i simply hated the look of the dopey front end and the low slung indicators, i sought to delete them and gain a bit of clearance and thats what happened, but have never seen anyone else do it for the 80 so id like to see what someone else came up with.

FYI, this will never be a slee offroad, ironman, iron pig, 4x4labs( duh ). This shop is far too diversified( i wish i could convince these guys to go toyota, theyre jeep owners but not vehicular racists ) There are three jeeps, two chevies and my landcruiser here. We will built a bunch of landcruiser bumpers and what not and wheel the heck out of them, but slee is and will always be ur 80 series landcruiser hesd quarters and certainly a great source for suspension( i run the 4" slee springs and love the spring rates he chose)...

Regarding the strange individual mentioned, id love to see him come to pirate and talk to us like that. All my homies woulda came outta lurk mode and destroyed him. Wilson did a fine job here in the meantime. Very much appreciated

Let's put this to rest... I searched "mj80" and got results with several front bumper threads. In at least one of those threads he also accused the owner/ builder of copying some portion of his design. That owner/ builder had never seen his bumper or rig before either. I was able to find a picture of his bumper though and it seems he won some kind of design award in Australia... no wonder he is so proud.

Nice bumper, only small similarity that I see is the step down portion for the winch. The rest.... well there's only so many ways to skin a cat. My next post in this thread will have pictures of a FINISHED, PRODUCTION binksfab bumper after I pick it up Tuesday (8/17/11)

Notice the specialized one-off Hella light aimed up for Zombie Patrol. Never know when one might jump out of a tree on the passenger side. Gotta be prepared up here in the wasteland.

By the way, I really like both of these bumpers, but I've got way too many unfinished projects to copy either of you. At least for now.

Ran into a group of three built 80s(lexus 450s) on the slickrock trail yesterday from the bay area. if u guys are on here post up, id like to wheel w u guys again in our station wagons Showin those jeeps and ifs toyotas whatsup i woulda hungout more, but i was with my sons and we dont get many chances to get out there all together...

The plan was togo kayakin but holy sh!t the camping at utica was overfilled...three years i used to go there and even if it was saturday u could still find a good. Spot on the resevoir...

Hey Booger that was me (LX450) and my buddy's. Had good fun wheeling up there. Thanks again to your son for spotting me up the steps/ladder so I didn't wuss out and take the bypass. I don't think the jeepers likes my comment about crawling through it with my A/C on.

Yeah too bad Utica was so full. Our campsite was packed and open areas were full of toilet paper. I think it's only gonna be good for winter camping before it closes. Union is now a mostly pay area from what I heard.

BTW the pictures of the front bumper don't do it justice. I think I eventually will pull the trigger on one. I think we might have some pictures of yours going through the ladder/steps.

Hey, yeah utica is ruined, just like spider lake, it will be closed. Funny how the trail and all the camping along it (used by wheelerss)are nearly spotless but down by the lake where other types use it(hikers, mtn bikers, kayak and canoeists) its filthy????

If u have any wheein pics that would be great! Also let me know when u guys are hittin trails. Seemed like a cool group of guys w the same rigs. Im headed to niagara rim this weekend, ur crew is more than welcome to join me buddies and myself. They are jeep guys(binksfab) but everyone likes all flavors of wheeling rigs
