Does anyone have a successful way to replace side cargo windows as a one-person job or can it only be done with a helper?

I need to pull mine out (fixed glass type) because I need to address rust around the bottom of them and where the d-pillar vents are fitted. I have new rubbers (current ones I reckon are the 26 y/o originals) and might even try to get new glass panels as the current ones have lots of marks and scrapes.

Thanks.

I did this last fall. Removing them alone is doable. I had my wife hold the window in place once I positioned it for installation. I suppose you could slide one glass open and reach through to put a hand on the outside and hold onto to the window assembly from inside the cab.

If I were you, I would definitely arrange for an assistant to aid installation.

looks like a two person install, youll need someone to support the window on the outside.

I think the barn door glasses would also be a 2-person job in that case. Need to replace one of them.

I just did one of mine and able to manage on own. Amazing dirt after 21yrs incl. deterioration of aluminium window frame ; seems salt was eating into it. Had to patch some holes. Huge amount of cleaning involved. Lots of time required. chasing water leakage that turned out to be outside molding (has four holes) AND seal around lower outside marker light

I removed and replaced both rear windows myself...I dont recall there being much to it. Once one side was loose I moved outside to pull towards myself.

I did it alone too, I used siliconon spray to help with the reinstall and rubber conditioner on the seal to help clean it
