Well i finaly got some pre-GSMTR work done. Doing a spring over with stock 40 springs. I got both front hangers tacked into place and now i need to make the rear mount.
The question is should I make the rear shackle mount through the frame or re-use the front hangers in the back.

thru frame, without question.....load the springs with a 1" block of wood between the spring and frame, jackstands under the springs, full weight of the rig on there...plan for 3-1/2" - 4" eye to eye custom shackles, angle them over the springs.

I have less than 1/4" between my spring eye and the frame when the springs are flat, flexes nicely.

through the frame. You will get too much lift using the old hanger. Your springs eyes will also not sit even remotely lever with each other. And most importaintly, youre pretty likely to invert a shackle that way.
