when I was at my buddy's place the other day, i asked what he does about cleaning injectors. i swear he said he did them...
i assumed he had some kind of setup since hes been building these longer than ive known him. Saturday morning i hit him up to use the cleaner setup. long story short, he doesn't have a tool and told me he doesn't clean them. lol
idk. English is the only language that needs interpretation for native speakers. 🤣

anyway i built a jank ass tool to run some cleaner through the injectors.
consists of some 3/8 efi hose, a couple clamps, a battery and leads and regulated air supply.(i set to 40psi.)
pretty self explanatory.
clamp injector to one end of the hose.
fill hose with fluid
clamp air supply to the other end of the hose.
hook up leads to injector.
hook up ONE of the other lead ends to the battery. doesn't really matter which.
charge hose with air.
toggle other wire to the opposite battery post.
do not leave attached to battery for more than about 1-2 seconds at a time.

took too much time fitting the "head pipe".
took about 12" out of it to fit.
sensor goes forward and it jogs up over the crossmember. cat ends up in stock position just forward of the horse collar.

got moar parts.
driveshafts. guy was cool. i told him i needed to step away from the project before i had a breakdown. he was like "people too" 🤣

got my locks dealt with. for some reason guy built five locks. common sense isn't.

got the last injector insulator. the parts house "kit" only had 2 of the 3.

going to get driveshafts on tomorrow. should be able to finish up the intake and engine harness.

some corporate shythole bought one of the main petroleum suppliers here and no longer actually provide said service :rage:
been buying pails instead of getting robbed by the parts house per qt or gal.

today I worked on engine harness repin and repair. sorta fit it.
then spent a bunch of time flailing around trying to figure out tcase driveshaft flanges.
ultimately spent an hour and like five bits attempting to double drill the wrong fücking flange :bang:

ok. new day. new drill bits. new attitude. 🤣
the drivelines are done, man. :smokin:
the flange drilling was much smoother today. no broken bits and no blood.
rear pinion angle isn't spectacular. but it should be gtg.
going to work on the exhaust and intake later.

little bit moar.
finished replacing the soft fuel and evap hoses.
upper plenum and egr.
turns out the fuel return hose routing is kinda dumb.
the rest of the exhaust stuff is scheduled to show up tomorrow. going to be 2.25 and magnaflow.
I still need to wire up the four wire and double check the ecm pinout because the turbo engine harness has the O2 lead in it vs the body.

worked on the exhaust a little bit. came up a little short on parts.
today the triple shifter showed up so I spent too much time fücking with that. usps actually came to my house. (pretty sure he was a temp or something 🤣)
i ended up having to lower the crossmember a bit so the rods would clear.
overall pretty happy with it.
it would have been nice if i could have run the clevis' on top vs outside.
i will also be tightening up the stick positions.

here's where im at with the tail pipe.
not sure i really love it but life is compromise.
i would really prefer to ditch the rear plastic "bumperettes" and tuck it.
maybe more angle on the last bend.
what do you think ?

originally. now it's for sale.

i ended up ordering a couple of more bends so I can clean up the exhaust exit.

We bought it new in 1986. It had over 450K miles on it when our son rolled it. I think in 1999 or 2000. Every time she see's one, she wishes she still had it. I showed her a pic of this one you're building. Got her attention until I said.....it's STICK!

You laugh, but pretty much what I do anymore. Driving Miss Daisy  Once she's back to 100% she's going to sell her FJ Cruiser. AKA Mall Crawler.

Sorry, back to your build thread.
