today I ordered a bunch of parts for this pile. Hopefully will have most of the bits needed by the end of week. probably next week in reality. couple of unknowns still.

going to just have the drive shafts done locally since it's not really hardcore. i have a 3rd gen 4runner rear cv shaft for the rear of course. and the 85 front will be retubed. doesn't look like a long slip is necessary with the small lift.

i found some rubber brake hoses that are a couple inches longer than stock vs ss hoses. will make replacement more "off the shelf"

broke down for the LCE header setup.
imo a good header makes a big difference on these tractor motors.

have an update vid coming in the next week or so.

here is some of the brake/hose info.
3rd gen 4R caliper and rotors 12.1"
dorman hoses sourced by length
front h621051 (these are 04-06 tundra rear w/vsc) 18.63 vs 20.5"
rear h381328 (these are 00-04 tundra rear) 19 vs 20.25"
clutch h621598 (this is 11-14 sienna rear) 10.38 vs 8.06"

the clutch line was chosen because of the auto swap stuff. just buy the one it calls for if you need one. 🤣
so note on these hoses, originally i sourced for cost and availability over SS. and some people simply don't like SS. i still paid $28 each. online sources were literally $6-$8. anyway ymmv.

i built a different hard mount on the frame side. the stock one and the hacked one both were shyt. i need a couple of P clamps to catch the short hardline at the caliper.

had to order some stuff from marlin because my local couldn't get 555 TREs and they're like 17$ right now.

waiting on driveshafts and the key shop for my body locks. i bought a new ignition tumbler.
i was able to find one of the fuel hoses through Toyota.

edit 23091-35030 is also available but its 16" iirc.

finished up today getting the tank ready to go back in.
also bled the hydraulics.

today was typical fůckery.
i found out today there are at least three different ac bracket/pump combos for the 22r. i have two that aren't "right"
some grinder action convinced it to work with my compressor.
the stiffener brackets and R151 bell are dumb. three nut/bolts and one bolt.
i broke down and just bought AN and adapters for the two forward fuel hoses. kind of harsh but still cheaper than Toyota, probably. 🤣

Everything is pretty straightforward.
this piece could be useful for others and other projects. 14x1.5 inverted female to -6

i decided to use a straight adapter at the rail instead of a banjo or the dampner. later REs don't use a dampner anyway.
not really sure i can fit -6 across the manifold like stock anyway. looks like it should roll nicely over the iac to the filter

pics of fuel hoses.
summit is so fast.
i ended up repositioning the hard line a bit and used heat to manipulate the new oe piece to fit better. it was pretty straight and is made of the new style hard plastic stuff.
i flattened the ears on the fuel filter to clear the new banjos better. i think you could just rotate an oe filter and not have to do this.
the front hose routes near the iac as mentioned.
mc stuff is scheduled for tomorrow. possibly driveshafts as well.

this end up being basically a wash money wise. except you can readily get the AN stuff.
the factory piece was $77 my cost.
the parts to build the others are right there.
building the short hose with the pieces shown comes to 81$ before time. fft.

fuel hoses done. tank installed.
TREs are here, so steering is technically done.
the female inverted fitting showed up in this giant box...
took some thread cleaning. I think the adapter wasn't threaded all the way. i put some lube in it and worked it all the way on slowly.
these TREs are marked L/R....opposite of the shank thread

DS guy told me today, yesterday. so far nothing :banghead:
going to work on getting the intake manifold and cooling hoses installed.

Looking good. Do you have room to plug the (knock?) sensor in next to the fuel filter? Or just a camera angle thing?
on closer inspection, yes, it's a little close. if it doesn't fit, I'll get a Toyota filter.

i wasn't really digging the hard line at the frame. i pulled the tank down again and reworked the hold down. i flipped the stock bracket and a little longer loop bracket. should be gtg meow.

today i attempted to install the fuel rail with intention of getting the engine harness fit and what not. parts house kit came with two instead of three pieces ....
so i switched gears after a :smokin:
time to fit the header. bought new studs/nuts. cleaned up all the holes, then fought the last stud for too long. had to run the die down both ends :banghead:then i installed it in the wrong hole 🤣
then i finally installed the header, trying hard not to scratch it. fit was excellent. im still a little partial to downey. this header is loong.
i started working out the head pipe to cat piece, around the tcase crossmember. this bit is kind of unspectacular. the sensor bung clocking is not really ideal. I think I have it fingered out.
couple of pics
