ok. light is definitely a nogo. wire isn't there and i don't have any spare bits to do it without it becoming a complete ordeal.

definitely glad i decided to swap out the tank. the 85 was done.
either way, i need a 17 gallon pump cradle. yes, it stinks as bad as it looks.
pics.

Toyota has these listed as a 56 or 65 litre. (14.8 / 17.2)
according to my search for the pump bracket, the online stuff says this truck should have a 17g so who knows what is up. the pump wires had been spliced.
the online does show the smaller tank in the 85 stuff but no smaller bracket. (that im able to find)
bracket part is 23206-35160 for 17g tank.

I have the tanks from my 88 Std. cab and the 86 Xtra Cab I can look at if you want. I thought they were 16 gallon tanks though. I doubt I'll be using them on my build. IDK if you can use any of it or not.

here's a measure if you don't mind.
This has the hp fitting broken wnd wires molested

i know "everyone" thinks the '85 is the end all, be all 4runner of choice. I tend to disagree a bit. lots of creature comforts not yet adapted.

i like the little things, like the remote gas door release. quick add today.

I just checked the 86 Xtra Cab bracket. It's only 11" from the bottom of the flange to the bottom of the bracket. I can take pics tomorrow. You are welcome to it if it's something you can use. The harness and lines are still attached.

today I was going to try to stab the long block.
that was quickly derailed by not having the motor plate.
and then i spent another hour digging for hardware that i don't have, then i spent moar time looking for the proper part numbers for the bolts im missing. and then I couldn't get through to the stealer parts dept because something something something.
you win some, you lose some.

fůckery is my middle name.
matrix is super funny today.
i planned originally to hook up the low fuel lamp with the new to me cluster. then decided not to because it was going to be kind of a pita. today i was like **** it, ill run that one wire......
well like an hour plus later, after much fůckery for this one wire. the damn cluster is apparently 84/85 (parts rig was ifs) and there's simply no light there. fml
but mocked the lb in to finilize tranny position for dl lengths.
some dobinson flex. 🤣

That sucks about the wire 😕.
Flex looks good I think.

What's wrong with the axle position? Maybe more forward? Hard to tell in the pics.

Can you use multi hole spring plates to shift it forward?

ya. i would like it more forward. these springs were built with stock SA steering in mind im sure.
it's going to be fine. i tnink ultimately the 235/85 is a little smaller tire. the inner fender is rubbing the tire a bit but I think some bfh massaging will clear it up if i deem necessary.

like I always say. anything worth doing once, is worth doing five times...
i am just a victim of my own undoing. i used the incorrect hardware on the rear engine plate, causing them to contact the flywheel and lock the motor.
i didn't realize this until i had it almost installed, while trying to turn the crank to align the clutch spline.
i ended up removing the washer from an oe bolt to get the head low enough.
but its installed, hopefully won't have to come out again.
one less thing to trip over in the garage meow.

i had some throwout bearing issues. my clutch kit was correct. but i didn't have the correct TO bearing collar (hub) or clips...
solution is just an 89+ TO bearing. it's a one piece unit vs the 4 pieces required for the 85 originally.
and was less than trying to find the collar.
