he says hes out, and hasnt been able to track anydown for quite some time....search continues

STA superlug 900-16...you can get it from www.universaltire.com

They only have the tube type listed, I called and they can order the tubeless from STA at no extra charge to you. It would be just under $200 a tire. They are 36.3" tall and about 10.5-11" wide with about an 8.5" tread pattern. They are bias ply though. Here is what they look like:

They have a good amount of tread depth and siping.

After searching 'till my eyes nearly popped out of my skull, i found a source in GA. that has nearly 400 michelin XS euro millitary spec tires in stock for cheap...i'll reveal my source and price once I have my set in hand. Im a bogart. going 9.00R16's. I think the XS look awsome, and are better suited for open diff/ loose terrain wheling. I'll snap pics when I get em soon as possible.

.....got some 39's today. xl's in 11.00R16

even better, i found what i wanted locally. I got some 11.00R16s today. 400 bones. 85-90% tread. yet another fzj on 39's to come.....

Performed some scrubbing. Hell, they look brand spanken new. I'm pumped. I took some pics to put sidewall thickness into perspective. I always though LT tires were ez to put things through. I dont think I'll be carrying a spare anymore. These things have got to be near 1 inch thick at the vulnerable part of the side wall. Here are a couple more pics.

Looks like they are keepers .
Only thing is you'll be using hammerheads for weights to balance them ;)

What are the modifications required other than lifting? Like to see the "after" pictures....:bounce::bounce2:

regear, driveshaft angles, steering geometry(castor), shock length, bumpstop modification...reenforcement....

To some folks disliking, i am staying open diff. i will do 5.29s, but i know how far driving finess can take you without lockers. with aired down(empty) 39"s, i wont need lockers to go where i want to go. did the harcore buggy crap. not going that route this time.

i also strongly believe drivetrain component life will be much longer this way. Also the lack of need for hydro assist is nice.

mm id love toget some new tires i have one wit a gash but its been holding air for now any lines for more tires?

dollar tire in edmontun alberta canada has a bunch of various sized 16" michelins. freight to arizona from there was 350 bucks. he wanted 120 a peice. no pics avail....

best guy i found besides my secret stash are from a good ol boy in georgia named bobby. real nice guy. the company is called tire farmers international. he said to me that he had recently slapped down some cash on a overseas surplus cargo container..he ended up getting 400 or so various condition-michelin XS. they are not the XL's. he has them for 75-150 a tire. lots of them are in the 16" rim sizes. the xs look real good, and are only slightly more mild than the other offerings. they are used in europe for sand use.

bobby's # is 770-869-3299. cell-770-519-1911

good luck.

slee 6" springs and bumpstop drops on their way...woo hoo! i may have this thing on big meats next weekend if all goes as planned.

i am playing with the idea of adding a third link from the inside of the frame to the top of the axle housing, but still use the radius arms-minus two of the rear most bolts(unhinged) for a working 3 link with stock panhard. this may work very well for a castor correction issue. Im gonna just cut and sleeve the panhards to get things square...stay tuned..

Don't even bother putting more than 20psi in those, will ride like bricks for sure. They do pretty good in mud, and amazing in sand........everything else is a crap shoot.

If one were to groove them to the max depth and ring the sidewall a few times these would probably do 100x better....but some 35" MTs would still get you further over 80% of the time.

Oh, and with 2" bumpstops on the front - flares...these wont even rub. They will in the rear though w/o trimming.
