on the braking issues, did he adjust the LSPV ...

X2, if it wasn't properly adjusted, you have very little rear brake. It needs to be adjusted to the same amount as the lift resulted in. With heavy springs on a stock weight rig, this is typically ~4".

I was getting ready to order the OME heavies for my 94 thinking the needed additional mods would be minimal. Reading some addition threads I didn't find initially has me having second thoughts. I already have the new Doetsch 8000 series shocks for this spring setup.

I plan to run an ARB up front and winch. Plan to go with the 4x4 labs rear bumper and some swing outs but that will be down the road.

I purschased the Doetsch shocks and was getting ready to pull the trigger on the heavies. The original reason was I plan to tow our 1982 21' Sea Ray Cuddy Cruiser https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/435740-anyone-tow-boat.html at maybe close to 5,000 lbs. Also like to take trips loaded with family and gear, kayaks and such on top.

I decided heavy/heavy combo because the stinkbug does not exist in my mind as I like it a bit high in the back. I really don't like it to squat lower in the back when loaded and towing. A lot of the photos of rigs with them 'level' unloaded look more like they are too high in the front to me. Just personal preference which is why it is great to have all these combo's available.

Guess I am looking for some advise and a few :flipoff2: from MUD to go on and pull the trigger on these heavies. I am looking at ironmans adjustable caster correction http://store.camel4x4.com/product/1144.html as it is a bit more correction than the OME yellows and cheaper at $88. Also very high quality.

I just need to realize I may need to look into some rear brake adjustments that I was not expecting to have to do. It appears there are few to none that have issues with brake lines and vibrations running this lift. It will be my daily driver currently as my TDI is dead and I don't think she will be resurrected.

Thanks guys, I need to feel good about these heavies...

I have the heavies and have no armor/winch, just normally carry around 80-100lbs of junk in the trunk, it is my DD. I am happy with it, and when I load it for camping or with stuff from home depot it rides a little better. So I think you would be fine with them until you get the armor you mentioned. No matter what lift you go with, you need to adjust the LSPV for optimal braking, so that should not matter in the heavy vs. medium debate. I needed the Slee 3 deg bushings to get back in spec on caster, I don't think the OME bushings will suffice for a lightly loaded rig with "heavy" springs. After having driven w/out the caster correction for a couple years, and then putting in the bushings, it is night and day, and drives pretty close to stock now. W/out the bushings there was always a bit of white knuckle, especially at highway speed and any sudden braking or evasive maneuvers.
