Just wondering if anyone has a Toyota part number for this item. They were metal, a silver color and VERY cool. Thanks!

Thank you maybe @beno can check this part number for availability as well:beer:

Not available for the US market. Toyota put the kibosh on them. I have them in stock but go to great lengths to get them into the US. They are PRICEY.

pretty sure its available......but not cheap($200 give or take). I love mine....but will I ever use it, no. I use the NATO Jerry Can's, really love the 2.5 gallon ones as they dont tip over and stash nicely in a Cruiser.......

They used to be available. They are no longer available for dealer sales.

Wonder if they could be had from a Mexico Toyota dealership? Or Canada for that matter.............. Don't you just love it when companies "decide" what you can and cannot have??

Seems like I should hold onto them until I really need something then. Can't see using them unless I did a bone stock true restoration that I didn't drive very much.

Yeah I just got a Wavian can (the Latvian ones as above)...it is badass, definitely getting more.

Thought about buying one years ago when they were still available in the US. Even started searching for a carrier. But other then a troop carrier with a spare mounted underneath not sure where it should mount it. Troop carriers could use a spare tire carrier on the back and mount it to that.

While these were listed as a option going back to the the FJ2 neve clear where they were intended to be mounted. Thread in the 25 section has pictures of five FJ25s that were brought to Peru from Japan in the fifties for a Univ. to do some research. They had gas cans mounted in front of the A pillar but were 1956 models I believe that were before the flip open vent that would be blocked. Mounted higher to not block the vent it would stick out above the hood line.

In the end I figured it would just sit on a shelf never getting used. It I need extra gas I'll just use some of my eight old GI jerry cans and haul them in my 1/4 military trailer.:meh:

saw mine just last week, was wondering what was in that large Toyota box in the back corner of the attic........ had about an 1/8" of dust on it, expecting 1/4" next time I see it.......

so your saying I should not mount it to the side of the 45LV with some large bolts?

but I guess if I were to do a car show(get asked all the time) with the 45LV or whatever I'd put it in the back for show

So cool! Big question is where to mount the can carrier?

in some lit or parts book I was looking at(seems like in the last few days, but may have been 10 years ago), they were just stand alone item, my guess(and they were pictured with a truck) is aimed more toward the pickups or troop carriers

Thanks for your input JohnnyC. Someone had posted a link I thought to cruiserparts.net for the gas can and carrier; once again the mystery of where they mount??
