According to Hal Stephens he bought the oem carrier when they were fitting the cruiser for the transworld ... it was supposed to go there

his transworld truck may very well be the only USA truck to have one fitted near new

There was a guy selling them on eBay a while (a year?) back for $100 per.

I shoulda taken the time to research/post here. I figured Toyota was making them more widely available and the prices were down.

I still have the one I got from C-Dan in the Toyota box in my garage.

I am also unsure about where to mount them? Only location I can think of on FJ25 is on the side (Back of rear wheel), but won't be a safe option.

Easiest thing would be to mount on the rear tire off a conferr type Jerry can mount bracket ... I have used one for years ... love it
