I've got an old school glass filter bowl and element for sale.

See pics below. This part is STILL AVAILABLE from Toyota. Call Cruiser Dan. I spoke to him by phone this morning.

You can get the whole works, glass, bail, and housing, for like $8.55!! And if I have the story straight, it comes with an element included! Amazing!!

So I'm turning this FOR SALE thread into a public service announcement.

I'm a little too tight right now to be buying spare parts, (even at $40 plus shipping) but if it isn't too much to ask, would like to see the PN on that box...

Here you go!

that's the number for just the element in case you were looking for an assembly part number

The box contains what is called an element kit. It has the paper filter which has metal ends. It also has two gaskets. I THOUGHT I bought this new from Cruiser Dan. EDIT: Dan told me that from looking at the numbers, I did not buy this from him. So, I was wrong, and I am not sure where I got it.

Oh, what the hell . . . I'll take it!

PM payment instructions, please.

Thanks.

Current version....

Here is the current version that is still available. As you can see it has a steel bowl and is complete with fittings. The current published list price is $8.55.

Obviously not "correct" for a concours restoration but still pretty cool. I do not know if the glass bowl would fit this housing. It may.

Wow! The metal bowl has it's own type of coolness, don't it?

Glass bowl = original, metal bowl = cool.

I still have all this stuff sitting on my desk. Since glass bowl is now unobtanium, and my glass bowl set-up comes with a filter and some patina, I decree that my $40 price tag, which includes shipping, is fair. So if you want it, let me know!

Dan, thanks for your input. It is nice to get this sorted out.

Gone-Johnson. It was a 90923-01124.

Thanks Dan, guess I need see how many of mine are savageable. Lucky it's on the suction side of the fuel pump so pressure isn't a issue. Plus it wouldn't be to hard to have one made. It does seem strange neither of hoses connecting to the fuel filter are available but a replacement filter and housing are.

It actually seems more odd that the filter is still out there.

Glass bowl will fit that housing. I did it on my '66

rubber, or is it that clearish plastic stuff? i think we have the plastic stuff. here's a good thread for a substitute https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj25-owners-group/47460-fuel-lines.html

Checked a 25 and 61 FJ40 and both have the clearish plastic tubing. I bought a fuel pump with the hand primer off eBay years ago. Had the tube and fuel filter attached. I remember it being rubber but guess if I find it will be plastic. Just remember being flexible. Paid eight dollars for it. Miss the early years of eBay, lot of bargains.

Agreed.

Even more unusual is that Toyota still restocks [and resells] old inventory that it currently catalogs.

Imagine my surprise when a routine order produced this:
