Thats about where my rig is at, fully modern drivetrain, 37"s, and more wheel travel than most people ever use. Its a good wheeling / driver combo for the most part.

It always seems like they get driven on the street more than you would think.
If this was the only 40 i would for sure say 37 and be done. But again this is more of a dedicated wheeler even though i want to make it nice I have tried to keep my black one very Toyota even though its really a dedicated wheeler , Body wise its all Toyota No crappy hardware store 13 mm junk . If we can cruise these things into town run around Lake Tahoe or whatever then its a win the Primary goal is to wheel anywhere and everywhere and not break and just have some super cool old Trucks . I am sure we would be money ahead if we just went and bought 100k jeeps but what fun is that .

Pulled the old hood hinges ( had to drill every bolt out )🤦🏻‍♂️. Then I sand blasted them . I painted a bunch of little parts also.

What kind of media do you use in your Skat Blast cabinet? We just picked up an 8’ wide Skat Blast unit for work from a business liquidation sale. Was looking at the skat blast media options, but the cost is pretty outrageous when they add the freight charges.

100 grit aluminum oxide

I had a rear tire carrier. Thinking maybe make it into
A gas can holder 🤷‍♂️. While we think about that I have other things to do like make some room 😃

Decided to take another 1 3/4 out of the rear. This will work better with the 43s

Started taking the body mount bolts out 🤮. I got one out 😃. Will keep at em 😤. And I decided to pull the hinges. The top hinges are certainly fun 😃. But if I am framing this might as well go all in and make it as nice as I can . I am certain it will get rolled the first time out and end up buried in mud. 🤮. But I will know the day it rolls out of my garage it will be the best it’s been since the day it was built 50 something years ago
