Thought it might be cool to start a thread with some old
photos for all you youngsters out there!!

Post up your photo of any model 45 with or without you or
family in the photo.

Lets start at 20 years or older!!
Make sure to put the date the photo was taken and the location if you know.

Kickken off:

1986 Las Vegas Glitter Gulch Gambol
1967 FJ45 Long Bed with H diesel
High centered on the rocks....busted a hole in the PTO box.
found a PTO cover and drove it all the way back to Los Angeles.
That is Marv Spector hanging onto the rollbar.

Would be cool to know where the FJ45 in the picture is today...??

Is it alive? It it in our registry? That would really give some life to the 45 in the pic....

:) Oh, and I don't think Marv is helping the situation!

And, what about the pig in the background?!

I sold that truck about 3 years ago to a gentleman in Washington
state. I owned it for 25 years.
The pig in the background belonged to Robert K. who used to
work at SOR.

a photo from 1968...its a 1965 FJ45

Is that from around the Rock Springs area?

The first set of digits (10) on the license used to tell you where the vehicles were from in Wyoming. I think '10' was Rock Springs. I lived in Pinedale for awhile and if I recall, that was a '4'.

Rock Springs

Miker,

Sorry it is not an FJ45, but this is me and our 1972 FJ40 in Rock Springs in 1973. We still have that truck.

Cheers,

Josh

Hey Josh, that's a cool picture of you! What a face! :D

My avatar is from a picture I took just outside Pinedale in November 1979 of my '79 FJ40 right after I bought it. Still had the paper plates.

And, sorry, its not a 45 either, but the picture is 29 years old! ;)

That's great Mike,

So you still have that 79? Any photos of it? I'd love to see a then/now photo of that one. You can post it on my 'patches84 FJ45' thread so we don't hijack this thread. I also have photos on that of that 72 FJ40 (the Toad) then and now. I lived in Rock Springs from 1973-1975- my dad was the photographer/journalist for the Rock Springs Rocket.

Cheers,

Josh

This was the second fj45 that played heavily into my life. The photos were taken in 1993 or so. I first saw this 45 on a ferry boat in '76 and asked the original owner if he ever wanted to sell it to call me. in 1993 he did. I was minding my own business in my cabinet shop , probably edge banding shelves or something and the phone rang. He said 750. and he had a good engine over at Al Minnis' shed that he'd throw in.... I grabbed my towbar and left the phone dangling off the hook . An hour later it was home... These photos were taken the day he finally decided to sell it. Before the internet, we just had to hope one showed up in the local paper... (fat chance). Now we can find them worldwide if we have the $. I'm researching for photos of the one I first saw in'67, Cohasset Ma.

BTW, that is Bill Yarlott, original owner, saying goodbye to his truck and confident it will get a new life... Within a year, I had gone to Canada and bought a set of split rims and a full floater from a wrecking yard. Oh, and a 2f. The kid in the photo is in 14 now....

Still waiting for you to find me a pair of vintage decals with the beaver on them for my current project....

Was Bill able to see his old rig after you got it back together?

I took my 72 GMC tow rig back to the guy I bought it from. He was the original owner and had it for 30 years. He literally cried when he saw it and all the work that went back into it. He wants a ride in it when I'm completely done.

Enjoyed that rig for many years and sold it to a guy who sold it to Landpimp on this board. I was going through a divorce and needed to sell. The one I have now is my re-creation of it, 9 years after the fact. Bill saw my new one last summer, and thought it was his.....

Genes Wagon

Here is a photo of the Wagon that I sold to Gene and
he crashed...
This was taken in 1988 in front of Marv Spectors house.

That rig looks just like Landpimps, he is in Gig Harbour. You guys got a lot blue FJ45s in that era it seems/

Owensexport,

Is that the same rig that had the...um... unfortunate incident with a body... happen to it? The one from the add? I think I recognise that bent fender. Was that the one which was wrecked? Gee, that would be a shame.
