Sorry yes I was referring to hypoid gear oil.

BTW The 101FC had split outerseals (wipers) (swivel seals) which makes for very quike change over! They just connected at the top and then clamped in the normal way to the housing.
 
curious, can't a machine shop simply drill a long hole through the front axle to achieve the same thing as geardynamics? I don't know much about lathes!

you mean drill a hole in the birf stub shaft where they have one? Sure you can just copy geardynamics and do the former so long as you also countersink a hole for a zirc to fit in the outerhub end of the birf and tap out a thread for the zirc.
 
Any engineers have a feel for what this drilling would do to axle stub strength? I'm guessing practically zero impact as the strength comes from the outer diameter, but would like to hear from an expert. Or someone who slept at a Holiday Inn....
