Hi All,

My 92 TLC 4.2 VX TD (1HD-T) seems to have low oil pressure. It has only done 60,000 miles. The gauge, indicates about 1/3 at tickover, and moves to about 1/2 above 2000 RPM, hot or cold.
Is this about right ?

Rob

Well Rob,

I don't know shiat about 1H diesels (a petrol man myself) but rest assued that you are using the mud greeting in the approved fashion :flipoff2:

Rob,

In case you haven't, take a look at the owner's manual for a picture showing the appropriate operating range for the oil pressure gauge. That's lower than how mine runs. I'm usually just above the second tick from the top (about 3/4's up) when I'm at 2000 rpm.

The double flip-off is what it is. It's like saying F.U. with a smile.
So welcome aboard, :flipoff2:.

Yep, welcome! :flipoff2: Now learn to use the search function b4 Junk climbs all over you and your momma. hehehe :D

I'm pretty sure my owner's manual indicates that the level anywhere above the very first mark to the third one is OK (a.k.a. NORMAL) for the idle oil pressure.

Frank.

Pressure is fine. Just feed it a steady diet of Chevron Delo 400 15w-40 HDEO oil, or Delvac 1 5w-40 if you are feeling rich.

Cary

The first mark and the second mark on the gauge shows the normal "range" for pressure.

My 3FE, although not a diesel, fluctuates within this range from the dead center to the bottom if at idle for a long period of time.

As long as it comes up as the RPMs do, I would worry less and sell me your truck!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the replies.

So its double :flipoff2: :flipoff2: to all of you
