Well, my oem gauge has been reading high at the 2/3 hash mark so i borrowed a mechanical gauge from auto zone to get a specific reading, however i cant find spec details anywhere. I was getting a reading of 55 psi at warm idle and about 70 at 3000 rpm. Although, i could be off on the 3000 rpm because i couldnt watch my dash gauge and the auto zone gauge. Can anyone tell me if these specs are correct or if my oem gauge is indeed correct in telling me im running high.
thanks

The needle on my oil pressure gauge has always sat right at the top line for 30 years.

That's pretty pleasantly healthy oil pressure- if it doesn't go over 100 psi cold, don't worry too much.
If it does, your oil pressure relief valve is probably sticking. Which you could fix, or just not
rev it too high until it warms up.

Sure beats the alternate problem...

Hi, Oil gauges on these seem to read everywhere, I only worry if it's at either extreme. Mike

Awesome. Thanks for all the insight on this!

Rule of thumb is 10 psi for every 1k rpm, your looking good with that reading.

then that would mean I'm pretty high on pressure.. With that math I should be at like 5-7 psi at idle and at about 25 psi at 2500

From the 3F FSM:

4.3 psi or higher at idle.
36-71 psi at 4000 rpm.

The 3F uses the same type of oil pump (if not identical) as the 2F and the engine is very similar. Just lower displacement.

Obviously with that 3F spec you're not going to rev a 2F to 4000 rpm to check oil pressure, but it's a good guideline.

Thanks! Wonder why I couldn't find this in the 2F fsm... Too scared to see what my 2f would do at 4K
